    Aha, Jason could be right.

    dizzy's "X" is a Check Digit.
    The description for the Check Digit says,

    "This Code is used to detect errors in the V.I.N. and consists of a single-digit
    number or a letter "X". It has no direct bearing upon the V.D.S. and V.I.S."

    WMI=World Manufacturer Identifier = JH2
    VDS=Vehicle Descriptor Section = RC468
    VIS=Vehicle Indicator Section = 7M900045 (model year + Plant Representation +
    Sequential Production Number)

    im interested in the number before the check digit.
    the check digit looks like it could be any number or letter
    but the number after the RC46 is what we need to figure out.
    its most likely dictates what is RWB RED ABS/NON USA Canada. etc.

    please people post up what your digit is and what model exact model your bike is.

    Unfortunately, I have some bad news. Despite numerous attempt to get 25th Anniversary Interceptor total production, build number info, color info (outside the USA), and such... I have been flat denied any information by the American Honda motorcycle guys one floor up from me. I'll keep snooping around, but for now I've hit a dead end.

    Also, I just noticed an interesting thread (http://vfrworld.com/forums/general-vfr-discussions/6287-how-fast.html) on VFR World that you might be interested in... How fast will a new Interceptor go?

    Here is the response that I posted...

    About three weeks ago I set a new world record for the fastest Ford GT (a Hennessey twin-turbo GT1000) that went 235.3 before I ran out of tarmac at the Lemoore Naval Air Station (here's a video of the speedo on a low-boost run... YouTube - Hennessey GT1000 0-225 mph ). Later that day I fired up my my "press" 25th Anniversary r/w/b Interceptor (see How Many 2007 RWB Were Made? ) and made two WOT glory passes. The air temp was about 75-degrees F, no wind, I was in "full tuck", I weigh about 170 lbs with gear, 1/2 tank of fuel, 2,800 miles on the odometer, and the bike was stock with all accessories (including side luggage mounts, but with no luggage attached). According to the Interceptor's speedometer (which I know is a bit fast over 80 mph) the bike achieved 158 mph. Of course, the bike got to about 150 in short order, but the last few mph (especially the final 1 mph) required a lot of real estate to achieve. Thus, figuring in speedometer error the bike was likely going a tick over 150 mph.

    "the check digit looks like it could be any number or letter"
    Hi, Rouse

    There is a page to figure out the check digit. I paste it below.
    VINcalc

    6, 8, 0 etc, after "RC46" tells a specific version and specific destination of the RC46
    bike. I understood as the destination was just an intention and the bike could end up somewhere
    else. I think as Jason said "6" was probably for the US market and a bike with regular brakes.
    I believe there are not any tricoloured bike with non-ABS, and all of Canadian bikes all should have "9"

    I wonder how many bikes have "8". I also want to know what 2007 red bikes have as the version specification.
    What I am thinking right now is that "8" is may be for a red bike. Honda was making a red bike and
    put a VIN, however, they finished the bike with a tricolourd tank and plastics.

    Thank you John trying to find out abou the number of 2007 VFR.
    It is too bad that they have to keep it in seacret, thought, we can keep lmaging and talking
    it for next several years.

    Aha! Red / non-ABS is 1, so Red / ABS is probably 3 ?
    Rouse, I think many of us also has 9 /ABS.
    I remember Red has bright aluminum frame.

    RC466 US model non ABS
    RC468 US model ABS

    I think.
    RC469 is CDN (ABS)
    Canadians must have own model with extra French stickers and higher GVW than the US model.
    I wonder why Jason doesn't tell us his VIN.

    I bought mine about a month ago and its 0155, its RWB and ABS. They had several of them, sell one bring another out. I'm positive they had 0163 RWB/ABS and they had 0049 RWB/ABS. The only thing I wish was different is the tires. Mine and the 0049 has Bridgstones, where as the 0163 had Metzlers. Wish I had the Metzlers. The dealer here had several of them and several of the red ones. Atleast I don't think I paid too much.

    I got the Dunflops on mine. They seem pretty decent within the first 100 miles.

    Hi, Captamerica
    It is nice to know you have joined us.
    Our member nozzle said that he has got 0163,
    so one of you must have mixed up.
