If I was on the starship Enterprise, I would be fired. They would never be able to keep me out of the Holi-deck.

    Oh, the possibilities...

Ever see the classic Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on Conan when he goes down to one of the newer Star Wars movie premiers? Classic laughs!

And for the rest of you..."It's just a show! Look at you have you ever kissed a girl? And you, when's the last time you took a bath?

Dont get me wrong i do enjoy watching the original. I just think that the writing was basically proatice for the following shows.

and i wanted to mention janeway was reckless, didn't half the crew die and the ship was nearly debilitated by the time they got back? at least in one time line.

I didn't see much of the end of it.

hmm, i wonder if i could get my wife to dress up as 7 of 9

Hey BZ. You don't get to live long and prosper. Bite me. roflmao Yes, it's just a show (Mr. Shatner), and I have kissed a few girls. But like most other shows, it has developed a humongous fan base, which in some circles could be considered a cult following. But give ole Gene some credit for being a visionary on this one. I am not sure, but I do not believe that any other show has had spinoffs, and coming up on it's 11 feature film (though not all of the movies were all that great).

You know who I feel sorry for on the Enterprise? The Ensigns with red shirts. They would form the landing party, beam down, start exploring & it all went down hill from there. Man, every time one of them went around that rock & shouted, "Captain, I found something!", POOF!!! It was over. Poor red shirt guys. :frown:

It was great they sent them up as "guy " in Galaxy Quest, when watching SG1 etc for fun my missus and I try to guess which " guy " will go first.

Is their any good new Sci Fi shows starting in the US, the only thing on free to air we have left is SG1 Atlantas ?

i have enjoyed all of the ST series at one time or another but probably watched TNG the most. I did rent Enterrise and watch the whole thing after it was all over. I liked it, but I was a fan of Scott Bakula from Quantum Leap so I was glad to see he found another job after that was done.

Other sci-fi I really enjoyed is Babylon 5 and Firefly. If you haven't checked them out and you are a sci-fi fan, they are a hoot.

BZ - you love stirring things up. LOL

John451 - Unfortunately, I am not sure if any new Sci-Fi is starting up soon. Battlestar Galactica is in it's 4th and final season. There is rumor (fact?) that a Star Wars show is in the works, but will focus on other characters and happenings in the SW universe and not on the main characters we are familiar with. Also it was rumored that there may be a spin-off of BSG, but I have heard nothing new about it recently.

The First Star Trek Movie was the most boring of all the movies... Wrath of Kahn is the pinacle of Space battles scenes... It's also the battle of who can "OverAct" a scene more Shatner or Montablan...

As far as good alternatives Sci fi Shows?

Battlestar Galactica... The best show nobody is watching.... Also some of the best sets and cinemotography on teivision...

I have actually started to get hooked on Eureka...

I have come to the conclusion that America has lost it's ability to create quality television with reare exceptions... ence why my Wife and I are addicted to BBC America...

The best Sci-Fi is coming from britain... Doctor who is the best show on television bar none! jsut the right amount of camp with brilliant special effects and the chicks arehot in it to... A spin-off show callled Torchwood (an anagrahm for Doctor Who.) has just finished it's second season... It reminds me of X-files but in this everyone really does beleive in aliens and such...

i love star trek, but could not bring myself to complete either TOS or DS9. with the exception of a few episodes, TOS was just too cheesy. DS9 I couldn't get in to the story. i grew up with TNG, so of course i love that and will watch it even if i have seen the episode way too many times. i really liked voyager, and not just for jeri ryan :p

i actually thought enterprise was the best series so far and liked it more and more as the series went on. you just have to take the series as completely stand-alone and be willing to ignore all the plot-holes and problems it caused in the 'ST universe' ;)

other scifi shows that i love:
BSG (how could you NOT love this show???)
    firefly/serenity
x-files (everything minus the last 2 seasons... those blew ass!)

i am really, really excited about the new ST movie, and hope it lives up to the hype. unfortunately, ST movies have never really entertained me a whole lot.

    oh, and by the way...

It was as I feared, lucky a mate just gave me BG S3 and the SG1 movie but other than finishing my B5 Crusader DVD's looks like haven't got much to look forward to, I heard ST Enterprise was killed due to production costs V's ratings but hopefully Technology will bring costs down for something new in the Federation Universe. :frown:

On the bright side heard there is a rumour of a new V movie and was talking to an extra in a new Terry Pratchett movie recently.
