Hey everyone. I've been lurking around for a few weeks just checking things out and the forums are great so I thought it was about time to introduce myself and get active and contribute to the knowledge base. I recently purchased a red 1999 VFR and it is a great bike having come from an '06 Suzuki M50, which just didn't appeal to me. It is like night and day and I'll never regret making the decision. I'll post some photos when I get my act together, work has been, well, a lot of work lately.

Anyway, I am a retiree (2001) from the Air Force after a full 20 year career and have held jobs ranging from JTAC (Forward Air Controller), AWACS, SAC, TAC, NATO, and other mostly Command and Control positions, all related to software and programming. I am currently residing in Tucson and just working for a living supporting our troops by developing new weapons technology for a large defense contractor. It's a great feeling knowing you're making a difference to the guys and gals in the field.

I'm really looking forward to hanging out here a lot more, you're all pretty knowledgeable and it's good to hear from others about gear, technique, and just the day to day stuff we all go through when riding on two wheels. See ya.

    JR

Thank you sir for your service to our great nation. I am glad to see that you were able to continue that service, even though you are no longer on active duty.

Welcome to this wonderful corner of the internet. I can't wait to see the photos of your bike!
