    Hi Folks,

Well, I figured it was about time to graduate from a lurker status to a full fledged VFRWorld member. I joined VFRWorld back in February after putting my name on a 07 RWB. My wife and I took delivery of our new bikes last night and can't wait to get out on the road. The weather here has been horrible and we received more snow just this past Monday. The snow has finally melted but it is a cold, rainy spring day here today. So it's a great day to get acquainted with the new bikes in the garage and get them all prepared for the first ride and hopefully warmer weather. We both have riding experience from the dirt/bush but never ventured to riding on the road. So we've both taken the MTC/MSF course to make us all legal for the roads. There will be many back/country road rides, at a leisurely pace, until we get used to the bikes. All good fun!

During my lurking days here, I have been both highly entertained and vastly educated with the posts I've read. So hopefully, I'll be able to chime in on some threads from time to time and possibly contribute something valuable back to the site.

As per the standing rules for intro's here (and strictly enforced by some  ), here are a couple of pics of our new bikes. They are both bone stock, so I won't chew up your bandwidth with boring stock bike pictures.

    Thanks guys.

Ya, it's only the second year the CBR125's are available in Canada. But they've been available to the rest of the world for the last 25 years. Last year Honda grossly under estimated the sales figures of the 07 bikes and they ran out of stock. This year they claim there will be no stock issues for the 08 models. Great little bike! Especially for those that are altitudely challenged.

Funny you should mention the stickers. I have the hair dryer in my hand, as I type....well, beside me. But thanks for the reminder.

And I'm quite sure we'll enjoy the bikes. Well, I know I will enjoy mine.

    Thanks!

How many HP does that 125 have? I bet it would be ridiculous fun to ride that thing.

    KC-10 FE out...

Came out of the closet did you? Welcome for sure. You know, I was not fond of the retro at first but the more I see it, the more I am liking it. I was a slow learner in school too.

Ya, the closet was getting very crowded. So I'm out now.

That's ok. I took the special bus to school. We all learn at our own rate. At least you're starting to come around and embracing the RWB. Show the love.

Yes I know, I'm extremely lucky. Not only does she let me ride, she wants to ride herself. :thumb: I do not take that for granted.

It was a mutual agreement on the bikes. I don't like riding with passengers and she wanted her own bike. Works for me!

I think my wife is close to taking the course. What put yours over the edge to get a bike?

It wasn't a question of pushing her over the edge, it was more of us both agreeing on the same thing. I don't like riding with passengers and she's always wanted a bike of her own to ride. Her grandfather taught her how to ride when she was a kid and enjoyed it very much but she never actually went through with taking the course and getting legal for the road. She just road in the dirt and bush.

So when I decided to bite the bullet to go legit, she wanted to as well. She finally had the excuse to take the course.

Even if your wife decides not to ride herself, encourage her to take the course. It will convince her one way or the other if she likes riding. Better to know now than after spending lots of money on a bike and then her finding out that she doesn't like it. But if she's like my wife, she will LOVE the course. :thumb: And most courses now have a good percentage of women in them. So she will most likely not be the only woman.

Congratulations and wecome! Just never get tired of those RWB VFRs (I'm partial to the annv. addition)!! I hope the weather makes a turn soon so you can both get out on those new bikes. BTW, I hope you're RUSH fans (partial again...)!

That 125 is cool as heck! Oh and your RWB is awesome too. My wife has had the urge to ride since I got her to perch atop my 06 and she saw that she could actually touch the ground(tips of her toes) but she did touch. Once she saw that she could balance the bike she was sold. All we have down here that she even remotely likes is the Kawasaki EX 250. If we had the CBR 125 I bet we'd already have her riding. Dang geographical sales statistics.

Hope by now you guys are in the full swing of riding, congrats.

Well, Mother Nature is being a bitch!

We had 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) of snow this morning. It was gone by 7:00 this morning but it sure as hell wasn't very warm today. We've had a couple of nice days and I've gotten out a couple of times but that's it. So we're hoping June is going to be a great weather month! :peace:

Just think. When it warms up enough for you to go out for a ride, you can also swat them mosquitoes/ Still can't figure out why Noah did not squash those two pesky bugs.

    Deep River

Hey RWB25. PM me if you're planning to run through Deep River on the Trans Canada. It's a good spot for a pit stop and my street is right off the 17. There are four Viffers in this small town. There's also some decent riding on the Quebec side near Pembroke, and in behind Eganville.

Hopefully, the Shad Flies will be gone by now. I rode through a cloud of them last weekend and had to pull over - my shield was opaque with their rotten-smelling smeared guts. Took me an hour to clean off the front of the bike. Now we just have blackflies...
