Hate to ruin this for you guys, but I have the faster red VFR, #900077

Looks like the Vin thing is a dead end.

I think this just verifies that the reds and the RWB were mixed on the line. Unless we find a RWB with 900077 which we won't cause it will be the same bike... the VIN refers to it's order off the line and NOT a sequential color run.

So... 002 could actually be the first RWB if 001 is a red...

If you look in the history of this thread, we've been waiting for you to come forth 007. Probably the next most sought after number will be 001.

The dealer in Grass Valley knew who had #001. He said the guys name but I did not recognize it. Sounded like it was someone at Honda or some racer/collector.

That doesn't surprise me. I bet that #001 will always have 000 on its odometer. Assuming that it has the RWB color scheme, I would think that it would add to its value.

Well... I think we need to do a systematic approach. We initially concentrated on just the RWB's. I think it is clear however that the reds will play into it. If Honda won't tell us then we need to know the highest number we can find of the RWB's AND Reds then try and figure out a percentage of each based on what we know. Obviously these numbers won't ever get close to accurate unless we get a ton of VIN's coming our way.

As of right now we know there are at least 1308 North American 2007 Gen 6's out there. Some are red and some are RWB. 1308 is only based off of the RWB submissions only though.

Bottom line, someone needs to put on their infrared goggles, climb a couple fences, scale a wall, repel down a vent shaft, break an office door lock, gain entry into a filing cabinet, use their mini camera and take some shots of some secret document... :spy:

    Or make a phone call.

When I ordered mine back in October of 2006, the dealer told me that only 1000 were going to be RWB. I didn't believe him, but it's looking like he might be right.

    i have 900248
was picked up december 5 2006
ordered the morning after the unveiling.

i worked for a honda dealer. it hit our loading dock on the 3rd.

now keep in mind there are at least 2 different sequences for the vins.
im not sure about the ABS we never order those.

    JH2RC46647M900*** RWB

    JH2RC46187M900*** RED

    JH2 - MANUFACTURED IN JAPAN
RC46* - MODEL - *** IM NOT SURE IF THE * INDICATES THE COLOR BECAUSE when mine came in there was another at the same time and it had a different sequence but im not a 100% sure what it was.
im pretty sure that the * after the 46 and the check digit were different.

lets try and confirm this with other 2007 RWB and REDs ABS and Non ABS

    * - CHECK DIGIT
    7 - YEAR
    M - PLANT DESIGNATION - HAMAMATSU FACTORY
    900*** - SERIAL NUMBER

when these were shipped out to dealers there was no rhyme or reason to what vins went to what dealer.
they come over in a large container ship. hit a main warehouse and then are just picked out of a stack and sent off to local warehouses. its not like the forklift operator has a list saying 900001-900100 goes to this warehouse.

who took 1st delivery or a RWB.
besides for #900001 possibly being set aside for a collector.
i believe i was the first to actually take delivery. i took mine home on december 5 2006.
can anybody provide proof of an earlier delivery?

I picked up #35 a few weeks ago in Quebec. I live in the maritimes and to my knowledge there is only one other RWB available Quebec east.

I purchased my tricolourd VFR on May 5th, '07 and VIN # 055 or JH2RC46917M900055TRI. I am not sure "TRI" is on my bike, however, its' registration papaer has "TRI" at the end of the Identification Number.
I was told that there was only one Tricolour in the whole of BC by Carter Honda (the largest Honda dealer in BC). Saying that, they refused me giving any discount,so I purchased mine from another dealer. I did not believe what I heard from Carter Honda, however, I guess I was hooked for a limited edition colour scheam.

In Japan, Honda advertized as they were selling domestically the total of 200 Tricolours. I think they have not yet sold all bikes.

Carter does not like to play the pricing game and lost my business as well. I also know for a fact that #10 and #46 RWB were at Carter. So their statement to you was a bunch of BS. I totally wasted my time dealing with their Granville Island shop, have no idea what the PoCo shop is like. #46 was just recently purchased from Carter Honda by Holeshot Motorsports. I think it's out the door as well. I think #10 has also been sold as I haven't seen it in there for a while. There are at least 4 RWB in our neck of the woods.

I have never seen the "TRI" before though. Very curious about that...

Why my photo is smaller than Jason's? Is it because of Junior vs. Senior member?

well so far the vin check digit and model designation looks like this

model - designation - check digit
RC46-6-4 6 RWB NON ABS USA, 4 CHECK DIGIT
RC46-1-8 1 RED NON ABS USA, 8 CHECK DIGIT
RC46-9-1 9 RWB (ABS?) CANADA, 1 CHECK DIGIT

The check digits look like they could be anything.
lets try and get some more vins to decode the model designations. the number right after the RC46.
lets see if we can determine which is a RWB ABS/Non and Red ABS/Non

does your vin tag actually have TRI stamped and printed on it?

Do canadian RWB have the 25th anniversary logo on the tank.
because in Australia they are 2008 tri-color limited editions not 25th anniversary's.

Yes, my paper has "TRI" printed on it below VIN and my bike has Interceptor, the 25th Anniversary logo on the tank as the US versions.
