For those that have the luxury of have having a second bike LOL or more... and a wife that allows such, what is it?
Me>? I'm a looking around, so many to choices and I'm a fussy dude. That and I'm still on the fence with a 1098, but that my friends is where my wifes says that'll be your only bike> Doh!! Needs to be a daily urban assault do everything machine, even more so than my beloved VFR.

Thinking one of these might fit the bill.

RVFR--Side by side, the Aprilia looks like dogs^&* compared to the Duc. Not sure if you are concerned about that or not....just thought I'd put that out.

What's with all this Italian hardware as second bikes! Man you guys must be dreaming...I only wish my second bike could be a Ducati or even a MV Augusta F4

Sweet bikes for sure, but I'd be happy with a nice 600rr track bike right now.

I do have 3 other bikes in the garage, a Ninja 250R (Wife's), 2003 Honda 600RR (sons, and yes dad does get to ride it) and my other sons 1990 Ninja 600R, but pop only offically has one bike himself.

Is that Aprilia cheaper $$$ than the Duc Hypermotard?
Personally, I like the look of that Aprilia (similar to the bike I just mentioned)

Just a thought, happened to see one screamin' by on the other side of 95 today out my way.

Don't get the Aprillia. I've got several friends that have them and they're broken ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME!
Go for a duck if you can afford it, and know how to adjust valves!

A Ducati Hypermotard, Monster 695 or Yamaha WR250R dual sport. I sat on a 848 and 1098 at the dealer and that's too leaned over for me.

I love the new CBR1000RR but I couldn't bring myself to get another inline 4... it has to be something unusual like a Vwhatever. I'd get a Duc 848 or a Honda RC51 in a minute. Call me crazy, but the Buell XB9R and XB12R have started growing on me as well.

I'm seriously looking @ the Aprilia UltraMotard over the Duc one (I road the Duc HM on a track & another in the canyons).

Not impressed with the Duc & would (does) have higher maint & intervals than the Aprilia.
The only Aprilia's that are High maint is the 450 & 550 race ready/street legal SuperMoto's, with the 550's having the most problems.

The new UltraMoto (UltraMoto = SuperMoto look on a sport-touring size bike ie: Duc's HyperMotard, KTM's 950, ect, ect.) is based on there naked touring bike that has been proven so far pretty reliable, & more so than the air cooled Duc motors ( but nothing close to the big 4's motors from Japan).

I do love the 1098s & have taken a couple out for a spin, & will be my next track/race bike for 2009 if Honda doesn't give us a new V4 or V2 sport bikeRR soon.
