just wanted to share a little riding experience i had today. i have had my bike for about a year now and still gettin' used to her. so i was out for a little spin when i decide to that her up to mach 1. there is an on ramp i like to use to ,umh huh, " get up to speed". i usually check the highway for clearance and drill it. but today there had been some construction and the road had dirt and sand on it so hammerin' on it was out of the question for me. instead i just wound up through the gears somewhat quickly but stretched 'em out, something i have never done. thats when i hear the best sound this bike has ever made. from 6-9,000 she started pullin' and those carbs came to life and that exhaust tune started belting its sweet sound. the whole time i was winding it out this big grin came across my face:biggrin: .
so like i tell people, they may not be the fastest out there, but as far as i'm concerned they have a sound no buzzing bee sounding inline can beat.

No doubt. I think my 95 VFR was the best sounding bike I've ever had. I might like it even better than my 998 w/slip-ons.

^ Wow and you'd know. those Duc monster play a mean tune. LOL but they lack the gear drive. Was at the Ducati dealership and their parking is in a covered garage, so it just so happens bikes tend to sound really good there, especially Ducs, funny thou, when I started mine up I thought, Nice, I sound as good if not better than them Duc's

You have not really got on the freeway unless you shift by means of the rev limiter :)

I know the feeling dude. I've only had my 800 for about 6 months and the first time I juiced it up on the freeway I was like, 'WHOOOAAAOMG!'. Also I test rode a 750 once and yes I have to agree that the sound did impress me.

I have to fully agree. I picked up my first 1997 VFR last Monday with a 250km ride home and I felt like king shit all the way. My wife was in the car behind me and she had said the amount of looks I was getting was unbelieveble. It has a staintune exhaust (without the spud), and man, can it sing a tune.....perfect day.
