WARNING....NON-MOTORCYCLE THREAD ALERT!!!! PLEASE STOP READING HERE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO READ ABOUT NON-MOTORCYCLE STUFF! Well, here is some of how my yesterday went. It was my second year in the San Diego Mud Run, and this year was harder because of the extra mud pits, and mostly because the mecury hit 100 degrees at the course! They started at 9am last year, but decided at 12 noon this year. Well, it was a blast, and if you have some of the sort near you I would highly recommend it. Some people wore some funny costumes. There was a 5k, and 10k, and we had a 10k four man team. So much fun, and we got so dirty. Well, anyways, I figured I would share some pictures with you all. The gf did a good job, but she could only get near two of the mud pits (there were many more, and big ass hill to run up twice) and if you want to see them all, check out my gallery. My buddies and I prior to the race Some goofy guys at the race. Me in the crowd Random group of people More random people Goofy costumes Nice tube! The man/woman of steel were there as well! The wizard of oz crew. Me with the Olympic wave Me in the second mud pit with the nice arm flail. Me coming out of the pit. 5k people near the finish mud pit Finish line Gotta love the masked wrestlers More peeps. Wizard of oz crew Me tackling my buddies at the end More of us at the end My team "MF Grande" at the end of the race
Aw hell no Jamma! We are 10k'ers! No 5k's for us veterans! We did the 10k team event. We had to run the course twice and it is about 4 times as muddy the second time thru as 3200 runners have already ran thru it by the time we get back to it again. We are the last to run, so we have the course pretty mudded up by the time we get going. We all had to finish as team with arms interlocked. It was a blast. Hotter than hell, but a blast nonethe less!
All the more dirt to be shown young lady! That, an plus we try and start out matching, and all of us have white shirts, not everybody has an orange t-shirt. I always want to get a costume together, but the plans kinda fizzle out....next year I have a few ideas though!
What's with the "Rake Sand As A Precaution Against Snakes" sign? What kind of floura & fauna are we talking here? KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
I have seen that for rattlesnakes... and the other kind that like to bite people here in OR, forget what they are called though.
Ahhhhhhhhh....that 3 dollar t-shirt goes straight in the garbage before I leave the grounds. It is nice to have a shirt on when you get hosed down and in the mud pits as it keeps you a little cooler as long as it is wet. Besides, I have too many chicks jumping on me when I take my shirt off....they are on me like white on rice!!! They are like animals! Yeah, I see what you mean, the sign is near the bushes, and not by the sand. As miss shorty said, it is as a precaution for the kids that play in the sand. This event took place on church grounds (as well as organized by) and they have play areas for kids. Mr Snakie likes to hide in the sand and doesn't like to be disturbed!
Haha yes!! A nice bright pink shirt like the cool guys wear, cause they are so manly pink is ok on them. That is how it works in California, right? :thumb:
hahaha...you crack me up Randy....I think you have been hanging around LGN too much! You fit right in here! So the heather mist is a color, or a fuzzy trim? I was thinking maybe we go as the "banditos" and all have sombreros and sarapes.
A buddy of mine leased a Honda Car some years back. Now you have to understand he is a bit of an alpha male type person. He wanted a black car as you know, black vehicles sorta scream of attitude. (Mine is black go figure) anyways all they had were grey so that was what he leased. And on the documents, the colour was listed as Heather Mist. So you think I would let that one alone. He rid himself of the car and moved to Toronto. Poor sod.
