In New Zealand the same attitude exists.
We just call them "Compressors"
ie most air compressors are "V Twin & noisey.

Waaaay back on page 1 of this thread,I predicted that it would last all winter..
Well,it's spring now and she's still clinging to life....

I'll have my GSXR750 as well, my Niece & husband in Virginia barrowed these 2 bikes 2 years ago, & I just haven't got them back here yet, so I use them when I go back East to play.

I would prefer to buy a custom build chopper that a Harley, so that would be a big YES. Harley's are overrated.

 

Hating

I hate when someone hates me for hating hated haters...
This is not about hate, or hating someone because they eat their eggs starting at the opposite end (how's that for a literary reference), it's about venting for very rational reasons. And BTW - it actually seems more so in every religion to wipe everyone off the face of the earth who doesn't believe in the same god as you (or perhaps ride the same pony).

You raise a good point YellowVeefer, "venting versus hating"...lots of room to discuss where one starts and the other begins. And then there is the issue of when someone is truly venting but someone else misinterprets their point (or vice versa).

And I didn't mean to imply that religion didn't start wars or problems (I think religions are the causes of most wars...and religions are often full of hypocrites and terrible people...) I just wanted to emphasize that treating people the way you wish to be treated avoids lots of trouble and hate. That concept just happens to be in most religions.

 

If we applied the Golden Section to all this, we could have the perfect rectangle too.

Gulliver's travels it is - very good! and BTW - the religion jab was more sarcasm aimed at the heretics of the "religion of peace" that are raining JIHAD across the globe. I do personally believe in god - and talk to him faithfully. AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE RIDES A VFR!!!!
I do not hate Harley owners, riders, tow-ers, whatever.
I ride with guys who own and ride Harleys.
They respect me and I them. But I like most of you, have ridden my entire life (ant that is a long time) and been subjected to the Harley disdain. So I vent.
FUNNY STORY - anyone who has ever ridden the White Mountains of NH has probably made the trek up Mount Washington. It's a beautiful thing to put any lowly jap bike in first gear and putt down from the top without ever touching the brakes, while smelling nothing but the burnt brakes of the Harley guys pulled off to the side of the road.

May I ad: poor shifting, overpriced, outdated (even the newer breakthrough stuff). But if you buy one, you are an instant member of the cool club.

 

Most of us have had a girlfriend with the same characteristics but just don't want to admit it.

 

I do...my first girlfriend was a bit heavy and underpowered but still a great ride and fun to go out with. :wink:
