Nice  "VFR", I believe you are one of the cooler, more positive folks around here. Thanks for the posts, dude. :usa2:

Thanks, I am very cool, thanks for noticing.

Earlier today I went to 7-11 to get a Slurpee, I leaned up against my bike slurping my drink and texting on my cell phone, winking at all the cute girls that walked by. I came -THIS- close to actually talking to one of them!

Oh, I jest. Except for the Slurpee part, I do that a few times a week. Shame on 7-11 for not having a seat or something outside.

Dude, the first day I took the VFR out I got a few compliments from random women around town (only one wasn't very attractive). It's a great conversation starter, I've found.

The cruiser folks (read: chicks) around here do NOT like this bike. I wave to everyone on bikes and most of them will just stare. It's too bad, really. I'd give the more physically fit ones a home.

You bring your cell phone on rides?!? If I do, I turn it off because if I don't, they'd be callin' me all the time, son! 7-11, eh? I haven't seen one of those in years, let alone been in one. I have seen a Cum N' Go...seems to be a favorite of the ladies.

Haha, the only compliments I get when I'm on my bike are from the guys who used to have a VF when they were my age!

I bring my phone, but obviously I don't answer it when riding. It's there so I can not answer it.

As for picking up chicks with my bike, I was kidding about the girls part. I was only serious about the getting slurpees part. If I really hit on the girls that live around the 7-11, I'd land myself in jail or in bed with someone old enough to be my mom.....

My problem around here is that most women my age are enlisted (I can't date enlisted folks...in case, non-military folks don't understand). So, I feel your frustration.

Joey_Dude I really regret reading your post. That was good time that I will never get back. I am about to speak my mind as you did. If you don't think you can handle it stop reading.

    No really stop.

Continue with the attitude you have and trust me when I say you WILL be statistic. It just pi$$es me off when it's assumed that police are out there to make YOUR life miserable. Anyone of those guys will take a bullet for you any day and thats how you respect them. I can only imagine that you've had poor experiences with police... wonder why? You know what, there are people out there that never have any experiences with police. You stating that you know when to be a good boy doesn't exlude you from all the other not so good boy acts that I am sure you do. If your going 80mph in a 45 zone and hit a kid, a family, a mom pushing her baby on the sidewalk, a pedestrian, another car or anything, I hope you loose your license, I hope your insurance gets revoked and I hope you get locked up.

So what we really need are gorgeous police women who love VFR's of all generations, riders included...

Of course, as far as I can tell anyway, most VFR riders are respectful of the traffic laws, although not necessarily in compliance with them at all times (myself included). Something to think about. I feel a new post coming on...

    I laughed when I read Joey-Dudes post.

I just figured it was troll time to see what would happen!

Elf! Quit training these people behind the scenes to start crap!

I swear you called up Squirrelman too and said: "Hey, post something inflammatory about John McCain! I'll have to tear you apart too but the responses will be worth it."

We need that Beer thread back so we can all RELAX!!!

I love the action shot of the front wheel coming off and the fork oil spilling out. The guy's face says it all. Too bad they didn't show his face after he planted it on the asphalt. At least he could use the bandana to soak up some of the blood.
And the dude with the shoulder immobilizer and other assorted bandages...how much you wanna bet he rode with that thing on.

drewl, are you inferring that there are some people who use poor judgment when they bother to use any at all?

    Just sayin...
Maybe there was thought afterall. Good first aid piece-the bandana
    extra protection-shoulder immobilizer
fire supression-flip flop(to swat out the flames on the bike)
Maybe the fork oil needed changed?
or he was gonna do a front end swap and couldn't find the right socket to get the front axel out?

interesting post. I agree you gotta pick your spots when you wanna let loose, but not on populated public roads. I am not a speed freak, but I am guilty of going on some aggressive runs with other riders. We pick desolated unpopulated places and have some fun. It is pretty common for a lot of bikers to run a steady 80mph on the interstate so info on beating tickets and courtroom protocol is good information. Speeding and riding irresponsibly is a recipe for disaster especially on public roads and in heavy traffic, but going to a track or somewhere unpopulated is something I am guily of doing.

Great April Fools Post... just a couple days late, though... You really goat everyone going, Joey. I haven't seen a post get so many replies so fast in a long time. At least not one that wasn't politics ( :puke: ) Anyway, here's my two cents: guys if you hit the quote button, it's ok to trim the quote to just show the pertinent info. Especially if it's a long quote or has pictures, no need to duplicate all of it. I realize it take a little more effort, but it's so much nicer to scroll through when we do it that way.

Well, I wont lie. I speed sometimes too. And some of what Joey said does make sense, I am referring to the "Dont admit anything if you get pulled over" and know when to slow your roll if you are going a bit quick (overpasses, etc.) I dont agree much with the excessive speeding, but to each his own. I just hope you never hurt anyone else my brotha. We all have the right to take our own lives in our hands, but none have the right to risk others lives.

I havent run from the cops in a long time. I did it in my truck back home a bit, mostly because I was 16 and silly. I got away about 4 or 5 times. Then there was that one time I didnt.... and a lot of bad news about it.

I am also super thankful no one ever got hurt due to my antics as a kid on the roads. My god. I was in other lanes, I was a moron. We all need to be accountable for our actions, and I know I couldnt live with myself if I killed or maimed some innocent.

I mean, riding fast is a hoot, but take it to the track homey. Or be verrrry sparing, i.e. go quick on empty backroads where no one travels/lives. and NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONNO NEEEEVER RUN RED LIGHTS!!! Goddammit man. That is f-ed up. What if it is me coming through the light on my VFR nice and legally? If you kill me I have a dad and 3 siblings who would make sure you never live to the trial date, I can guarantee that.

I can live with some minor traffic infractions, even some stupidity, but knowingly rolling the dice with others lives... that is too much man. I hope you change it up a bit, if so, I welcome you back. We all f-up sometimes, it is the legit among us who admit it and change.

    word up.

He did have some good points on looking for the cops and fighting tickets is always good. But as we grow older we learn that running from them just is calling for more trouble. First of all its a Felony now and in case you are not aware that means State prison for at least a year. On the other hand if you just pulled over it might have been a ticket or a warning......I know how it is when your young....I was there once.
