See my tag line Squirrelman, it fits you just fine.

This is probably the worst thread I've ever read on this forum, as a veteran it's insulting to the core.

Kerry...what a joke. His own men didn't even trust him. Oh yeah, didn't he get caught in a bunch of lies about his "bravery"? Hell, his wife carries his nuts around in her purse.

I'm not going to defend the Vietnam war...I wasn't around, and from what I've read ... I disagree with the why's for the war. Just as I disagree with the why's of the current war in Iraq.

Howerver, just because I disagree with the political reasons for war does not mean I believe the soliders are individually accountable. It's a war zone and that's a sad fact. The solider may not want to be there....may hate what he's doing....but he signed his life away when he enlisted, or in the case of Vietnam, when he was drafted. That man or woman is in a foriegn land fighting a war for reasons they might not believe in...but they have no choice and when you're being shot at....it's basic instinct to fight back...it's called survival.

So take your liberal, socialist, bleeding heart and do something for the whales. Go buy a vespa...sit at starbucks....and think of ways to save the earth from global warming...because I'm sure you buy into that crap too. Better yet....just do us a favor and emigrate to France or Montreal.

It sickens me that men and women are dying over seas fighting for your right to spew this shit. Socialism has been tried and it failed....so stop trying to tell everyone what to think.

    fookin jerk off

    1) The was absolutely nothing wrong with the ideas behind the Vietnam Conflict or Iraqi Freedom. The problem was the manner in which they were prosecuted. In both cases, had the government let the military do it's job, there would be a Pizza Hut & Walmart on every corner of Ho Chi Min City & Baghdad.

    2) Just because you have the right of Freedom Of Speech doesn't relieve you of the responsibility of speaking intelligently.

    3) Yes, being liberal is a bad thing in this day & age. Why you ask? Many reasons the hi-lights of which include:

I AM NOT responsible for the woes of a crack-head living in a cardboard box under a loading dock.

I AM NOT responsible to ensure you are not offended by something you hear or see.

I AM NOT responsible to make sure you pay YOUR mortgage if you were a retard & bought a house you couldn't afford.

I AM NOT responsible to make sure you get to college just because your skin color is different than mine.
    (edited to read)
It doesn't matter if you're black, white, red, brown, purple, green, pink w/purple polka dots, stupid people OF ANY COLOR shouldn't get a free ride just because they are that color. Like I said, why should you get to go to college if you're stupid? If you're stupid, shouldn't you be working in Burger King or be a garbage collector. I'm not a doctor because I'm NOT SMART ENOUGH TO BE ONE. I recognized that & made a career choice accordingly.

    4) Squirrelfag is still a tool & I am not exagerating, I am ashamed he is a citizen of the same country I am.

    KC-10 FE out...

poor poor squirrel boy. That has to be the lamest piece of trash I've had to read in quite awhile. It's been said over and over, but I'm gonna say it again. He didn't make the orders, he followed them, just like he was supposed to. Now I'm not sure I'd call him a hero either though. He didn't have some miraculous act of bravery that I think would qualify him as a hero. He was doing his job and that was that. Granted he was a POW and it would take a load of testicular fortitude to get through that, but still not sure that qualifies him as a hero. No disrepect to all the service men and women. In my eyes, you're the bravest this country has. I have friends in Iraq and can't imagine waking up everyday thinking it might be your last. Brave as hell, but doesn't make them hero's either...just alot of nuts.

Which is one thing Squirrel doesn't have...nuts. I'm not sure squirrel is even a man; probably has a cooter. And maybe she's raggin. That would explain it.

I debated weather to respond or not. You certainly entitled to your opinion but if you choose to express it in a public from you pretty much reap what you sow.

From what I’ve read he was on a mission that was approved by his superiors when he was captured so he was entitled to be treated as a POW. If you think conditions in a VC prison camp don’t qualify as torture then you are deliberately ignoring a fact, which makes you ignorant on the topic.

As for the treatment of prisoners, ask anyone in the armed forces of another country, if they were captured who they would want to be in custody of. I grantee they will say the US. Unlike you, I base this statement on 20 years experience working with indigenous forces all over the world. If you think we treat people badly, try working with some of our NATO allies (yes, including the French), South African or Asian forces.

Oh yeah, the perspective of history, it’s written by the people that win wars.

Wow...is that what being conservative is all about? Bigotry? Prejudice? I had no idea that's the way some of my fellow military members felt. Well, as a minority, a college graduate, and a military officer I'd like to tell you that I know plenty of non-stupid minorities that went to college...myself included.

Squirrelman is not very eloquent in his statement of opinions. However, at least he doesn't froth at the mouth with angst toward everyone who doesn't look like him when confronted with a differing opinion. The fact that the quoted statement above had little to nothing to do with this thread only suggests you were just waiting for an "appropriate" forum in which to spew that opinion. You might be ashamed to live in the same country as him. However, I am totally ashamed to serve in the same military branch as you. You need to control your mouth or read more. This brand of conservatism is exactly what has weakened the conservative side of American political arguments as the under-sexed, church-obsessed, bigoted, undereducated, undeservedly prosperous party that it appears to be. Conservatism has its places in the political arena...posited against freedom of speech or minorities isn't, in my opinion, one of them.

Fear not...not all USAF members are this apt to fly off the handle at someone's opinion regardless of how misguided or childish it may be. Some of us really DID join to protect everyone's freedom to live/speak/opine as they choose...and others just joined to earn a wage.

This thread was doomed from the beginning to be laced with vitriol from all points of view. The fact that Squirrelman prefaced this thread with a warning to all who might be offended in addition to the fact that those folks then proceeded to read and become offended by the thread is beyond imbecilic. Is it possible for you folks to ignore anything with which you don't agree? Or does everybody have to agree with you lest they be destroyed sans compliance? We live in the USA, folks...grow up and read the constitution (for what would appear to be the first time in most of your lives).

    O' Moderators...Where Art Thou?
