    Elf:

The 97 I bought came with chromed rims. The previous owner had them chromed. You can see pics in my profile.

Although they look nice, my opinion is to take that money and spend it on rider training and suspension upgrades.

I think you'll be happier in the long run.

Do you mean your 97 came with chrome rims because the last owner did them? I dont think it was a factory thing back then? I would rather have polished rims as the chrome will start to peel and flake over time and can cause tire sealing problems.

    Slo:

The guy I bought the 97 from had the rims chromed.

Well, if they peel I'll deal with that when the time comes.

Had any luck finding parts SLO?

Just have the tire shops be careful when installing and removing tires to not chip the chrome! That is when it all starts... Some new ones came up on Ebay today so Ill watch them and see how it goes. Im getting impatient and ready to pull the new trigger...

My buddy has them on his 03 red and they look bad a$$. I would not get it done because I loke to ride not clean. he did the exchange thing where they send you the crome ones and you ship the stock ones back. just have to add bearings to the front hoop.

I've got chrome wheels... (look at the photo Gallery) The guy that owned it before me put them on. I'm guessing they are about 5 years old and if you look really close you can see that it's starting to chip in the crevices.

Yea they are pretty dirty in those pics... and I would love to take another pic but last week my camera fell out of my pocket while I was ridding. so yea... I don't have a camera anymore. :( If you can imagine a mirror like finish that's what they look like when they are clean.
