I did find some decent pants (sizing is off - I have a 32 waist and needed size 36 in the pants) on nybikergear.com from Xelement for $59 bucks http://www.nybikergear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=997 [IMG] . The pants are textile with a nice lining and knee armour (good for early spring, fall and moderate winter temps). So far one of the better fitting a made textile pants I have found. I am also looking into using EVS armour with jeans and have just recently found the Force Field Armour which looks really neat but of course the company is in the UK. This is thier link - nice looking products: http://www.forcefieldbodyarmour.co.uk/default.asp

    Hi,

Just bought a pair of the dragging jeans. They run a bit large (in ladies size anyway) but the kevlar completely surrounds the buttocks, hips, and knees. After watching some of the videos of guys actually sliding over 100' on them, with no burns, scratches, or even a warm butt, I'm hoping they'll do what they need to do. After I get some money ahead, tho, I'm going with leather. Expecially after reading this page!

I've seen road rash, bad road rash, and don't want any for myself. I figure I'm worth $100. I will probably buy another pair.

    My 2 cents.

You can also consider leather overpants. FirstGear and Icon have leather overpants. The FirstGear Leather overpants have some padding in the knees, but the Icon leather overpants have knee armour. kinda pricey, but good leather and quality. I wear the Cortech/TourMaster Dekker leather pants mostly in the fall and winter. The Cortech leather Dekker pants have armour in the knees and hips., They are well made with good quality leather. I highly recommend them. The Xelement textile pants seem really nice so far - good protection and comfortable to ride with. There are also some nice preforated leather track pants with armour. Most crusier stuff has no armour so impact will cause some broken bones. An example would be the Power Trip Diamond Black Preforated Leather jacket - really nice but no armour with a sleevless liner (worthless liner). The Icon Pursuit perforated jacket is well made and has shouoder/elbow armour and pocket for back armour. Why can't power Trip and other companies consider adding armour of just pockets for armour? Same thing with the jeans.

    Tks Elf!!

I'll check into those. I've had my bike a month and due to the snow & rain here, haven't even ridden it! But this week the sun is coming out!

Do you wear these pants over regular pants? Looks like they only have size 34 left and I am too a 32. I have a Force Field back protector that is sold under the Joe Rocket name. I think Tori knows of a place here in Ca. that sells their product as well.

I have two pair of Cortech DSX jeans. They are safer than a ordinary pair of jeans so WTH! The buttons are cheesy though...already had one replaced.

    Icon Automag Leather Overpants

Has anyone tried the Icon Automag Leather Overpants? If so, please let me know they fit and if you like them. PM me if you prefer. There are no reviews on the web yet, that I can find anyway. I think I'd rather have the armour in these than the padding in the Firstgear overpant.

    Thanks in advance

I just picked up the Icon jeans. They are comfortable and good quality. I'm happy this thread came up because it pushed me from looking into it into finally buying them.

I have ordered the Icon Leather overpants locally and should have them soon. I am a 32 waist but usually need a size 34 (tried size 34 in store and they fit good), because of my thighs. I ordered a 36 because I want to wear them over jeans or work slacks. The fit is more about how it feels when in a riding position. Usually it is the bulk at the knees that can be a problem for me with lined pants and overpants.

Gotta have a ballistic kevlar armor- reinforced butt protection around here just to survive!!!
.....So sarcastic comments don't touch off a firefight,ya know?......

(THE REST IS DREADFULLY off topic, sorry....)

I guess iv'e been almost banished from the team's kkklubhouse cuza liberal -attitude bad rhetoric, huh?? BUt i love ta twist wenches on bikes and drink Red Dog just like you.....

the media supercharged presidential season here has gotten lotsa folks' blood pressure spikin, that with Red Dogs gottin folks spoutin s**t!!!

Various and multiple US political factors lead to hopeful new OBAMA era, doncha think?

He's the best candidate to be a canditate we've had for decades, and we've been waiting and evolving as a society for this man to have the opportunity to step forward for the office...

-----Abe Lincoln was also a humble lawyer from Illinois-----

How soon he might turn out to have ethical, sexual, financial, hypocritical feet of clay is another matter.....

I think an Obama presidential election would be a move in a new direction, and i think we all really need that.

Honestly, Obama reminds me of Alfred E. Neuman, but he also reminds me of JFK.....

Simple, Mr. Obama is an inveterate and habitual pants-wearer and rightfully proud of it!

Does someone have a mask on? I smell a hijack coming.

I ordered a pair of aerostich pants this winter. They had a sale on the hiviz. I'm ashamed to say I haven't sent them back to be shortened. So I haven't worn them yet but they are easy on and great!

They cost some $$ but worth it. Just pass on that PC III and you could own them easy. Wear any jeans you like under and carry a tank bag and throw them in.

Yes the election will get a lot of peoples blood boiling. But don't add fuel to the fire here.

If I'm not mistaken, this website is based around VFRs and their owners and was not designed for politicking.

I would love to respond to your statements about Obama, but I will save that for the appropriate time and place. Let's keep Obama out of VFRWorld. 'COUGH' 'HACK' and the white house 'COUGH' 'COUGH'

Got the Alpinestars street jeans the other day and so far am impressed. They have ballistic knees, kevlar like material inside the whole top, and gusseted crotch. I ordered them big so I could wear shorts or underarmor with them. They are cut baggy so they were really big. Sent them back for proper fit. I'll let you know how they ride.

Has anyone bought the Tourmaster caliber pants?
    h_tb.jpg

I'm looking for riding pants, but do not want leathers. No road warrior look.

These pants look good and seem to have plenty of protection.

    Any comments?
