i couldn't decide if this belonged here or in the 'Mechanics garage'. Mods, feel free to move if i messed up.

problem: the bike will occassionally stall on me when i blip the throttle. this prodominently happens when the bike is cold (which i understand, sorta), but i've had it happen from time to time when it's warmed up as well (which i don't get). nothing more embarassing than trying to look like johnny badass at the light by blipping the throttle only to have the bike stall out. really, though, i'm more concerned it's gonna stall on me at a most inopportune moment and get me in trouble. i have had it do it to me when rolling at slow speeds as well.

bike runs fine otherwise. idles around 1000-1100, no hiccups, nothing. mileage is a little low (high 20 to low 30s), but i HAVE been ham-fisting it lately and i'm by no means a little guy. it could likely use a new set of plugs (14K on the bike and i have no clue how old they are)

mods: snorkel removed, valve on top of intake unhooked and plugged with golf tee, K&N filter, Two Bros exhaust

i'm guessing with all my 'mods', it just can't handle the sudden influx of air when i go from idle. probably starts to run lean and basically gives up the ghost. i wouldn't think the system would be that sensitive, but i know very little about bikes. since i'm guessing Honda uses a speed-density system (as opposed to MAF), i'm guessing it also has no way to calibrate to all the mods, yes? hence why everyone buys the PCIII

what do you think? should i try throwing the snorkel back on and plugging the little vacuum line back on the lid?

Are you getting a blinking FI light? I have the same mods and have not had any problems. When you say plugged with a golf tee, you are talking about the line going back to the motor, right? You can also use a jumper wire to see if the ECU stored any codes. If you are not getting an FI light then I would go back and check out the lines you were working around and make sure you didn't disturb something by accident.

Yeah - try the snorkel back on to see if it improves. Its purpose is to smooth low/mid response thus I'm leaving mine alone.

    no blinking light

the line i plugged runs to the one-way valve that's located on top of the air lid. why did i do it? i dunno. read up on it somewhere in here and thought 'what the hell.'

what's the exact procedure for pulling codes on our bike?
