If he has that many bikes, & you have known him more than a year, I say do it, & ride with him than take out yourself.

If your ever going to try a HD, might as well try the V-Rod

I have let members ride my sportbikes, & most say holly shieet when they ride the Triumph Sprint ST or the VFR.

Most of the guy's in our HD club also have big touring BMW's, ST1300's, & Goldwings as well

Oh yea, & half have raced dirt or Road raced:first: , albet that the other half are RUB's :caked:

To build the scenario, I've lived across the street from this guy for the last 6 years. We don't really have any animosity toward each other, he likes his HD's & I don't. For the most part, we are on good terms & maintain a proper neighborly aquaintance. I never start crap with him about his bikes & he doesn't start with me. It's ALWAYS his idiot friends who like to walk across the street to harrass me when they see my "Jap Scrap". I've already roughed up one of his "friends". The guy was talking crap & I told him to get off my property. He made what I thought was a threatening move so I MMA'd him to the ground & put him in a submission hold. I could have very easily knocked him straight out but I figured that would be overkill. My neighbor apolgized for his friends actions & that was that. I really only have a problem with these guys maybe once a year.

So, back to the V-Rod. He says he has no want or need to ride my VFR. He displayed a slight interest in the Hawk when I told him how much it weighs.

    We ride this weekend.

    Oh, Chickenstrip, up yours.

Taking a harley out for a ride was the most fun Ive ever had going slow. A good friend of mine, who sadly is no longer with us, had a sportster 1000, let me take it out for a ride once. I had no interest in one then or now but I did ride one. Cool thing was the same guy owned 3 hondas at the time and would out right admit that he thought Honda made a better motorcycle.

Hey K-C10 I say go for it nothing ventured nothing gained. I dont expect it will change much though.

I would love to see some pix of the "neighbor" on the Hawk and if possible some pix taking the guy down who made fun of the oil change. Guys like that deserve everything they get IMO.

I don't think this thread is going to die anytime soon because it has been picked up and sponsered by Two Brother Exhaust! Lots of funding to keep it going:eek:

I've met a lot of people I like who ride Harley's. But, the bikes themselves I consider "jewerly". Pretty to look at = something nice to wear. But, having ridden (at a demo rally) a sportster - I found it to be the most uncomfortable ride on a motorcycle to date. I don't hate the bikes, I just don't see the reason to pay that much for something I'd rather shrink to size and wear as a lapel pin. I could see HD up there with Gucci and other designer labels. And I'm sure they've made it to more than their share of "cat walks" in the fashion world. Therefore, I suspect it gives the Harley rider a sense of "self" with a label to adhere to and say "I made it". That's fine for them, but, I'd rather ride.

I like Harleys because they are iconic American Motorcycles. I like Harley Davidison because their marketing approach has reached so many people. No other brand of motorcycle comes close to the marketing appeal of HD. The motor company is making a ton of money. Good for them. I also like sportbikes more than cruisers. If I could have a second bike, it would probably be a Road King.
I hate people who think they are better/smarter/cooler/faster/safer because they don't agree with what others ride or how they ride or how they look when they ride.
So what if they don't wave back. So what if they like to stop at the pub for a few beers. So what if the squid likes to pull wheelies on the E-way.

Checkout Killboy.com. It doesn't appear that he is biased for any type of ride/rider.:usa2:

Remember the movie original "The Fly?" At the end, the tiny fly with the human face is getting ready to be eaten by the spider and he screams in his teeny voice "help me..." That is what this thread is doing...we just cannot hear it. Like that fly, this thread needs a big rock to be SMASHED over it.
STUKA! I am BEGGIN' YA...end this STAT!

My V-Rod ride has been postponed. I've been scheduled to fly with a student on Saturday. Obviously, that takes priority.

I don't know Nung, after 300 + posts showing displeasure for HOGS....I don't think I have an understanding yet if people dislike Harleys. We need about 300 more at least.... :frusty:

    :laser: :deadhorse:
Actually, this is not even right. The horse has actually been raped repeatedly and beated so severely that it is nothing more than a can of Alpo dog food.

Besides, this thread is bubba's baby, and he is smiling like a proud papa watching his baby grow stronger and stronger each day! I bet he even comes close to shedding a tear when he sees this post count blow past 300!

Anyone else see the irony in a Harley Davidson thread leading the Post count on a VFR site ?

    Yes John I have!

But if you think about it how many threads can we keep having regarding what tires people use, oil people use, pair vaule block offs, etc. that can make 300 posts?

Actually, I bet if you took all the oil and tire (I meant tyre) threads in the history of VFRWorld they would far surpass this thread in number of posts.

I love this thread, its my baby...not a very good baby, but I still love him! Kinda looks like the kid from Eraserhead:eek:

Interesting venting of the proverbial spleen,
I have two words.... who cares ?
Is it the brand of motorcycle that makes the motorcyclist or the motorcyclist that makes the motorbike ?
    Overpriced, oversexed, and over here.
