LOL with all this talk about VFR's and knowing it takes a rider to move out, and to do so you have your gear. So was wondering how one takes care and stores their gear? Like in does the wife / significant other make ya keep it out with the bike? storage room? down stairs, back room broom closet or? In my case thy wife gets sorta like can you keep this stuff some where else? so it's in my nice and warm closet off thy bedroom, helmet is on my closet shelf. I know we take pride in keeping the VFR as safe as possible, doesn't your gear deserve the same?

Personally I keep it in the closet in winter, no issues with the wife, and with the bike during the riding season. It is just more convenient to have it with the bike in the garage. My bike and gear have their own space in the garage so they are happy.

Gear stays inside the house, in my bedroom closet. Helmet is on a shelf in said closet. I agree with those that say gear is happiest around the bike. However, I have stairs leading into my house and I haven't figured out a ramp situation to get the VFR into the living room yet. As far as a wife goes, I off-loaded her about 7 months ago. If she were still plaguing my home, the VFR wouldn't even be in the garage...it'd be at the dealer.

Gear in the house, dry and warm, except for the tank bags. They should come inside too, if I were truly an exceptional provider. Hmmm... it appears that my character has developed a few flaws.

The helmets stay in the garage on their own wire shelf, jackets and pants stay in the spare closet under the stairs. Boots and gloves stay in the same place. Wife is pretty cool with all the gear as long as it’s not laying on the floor in the living room.

Gear comes in with me, when I dismount I just walk into the house with all my gear on; I feel bad enough I can't leave my VF in the garage, it has to stay outside in my patio (though it is fully enclosed/locked gate, with bike cover).

Mine, stays in the closet for storage. I quit leaving it with the bike when I had two spider bits after a ride. 1 in my helmet & 1 in my jacket....

My gear has it's own closet. The only other thing in the closet is our suit cases. My helmets have their own shelf that nothing else gets put on.

I added it up & I have nearly $3000 in motorcycle apparrel. Good thing this stuff lasts a long time.

    KC-10 FE out...

My jacket is usually on the back of my chair at the head of the table. My gloves are in the tank bag on the bike. My helmets are on the shlef in the garage. The boots and pants are on the floor in my room in the clothes corner. My butt is in the DAD'S CHAIR in the family room. The beer is in my hand. I am the master of my domain.

My leathers are in my closet, and our helmats are in a shelf ion our computer room. I like to keep them thermally stable. My VFR is in the garage during the non-riding season here, as she also needs a comfy place to hibernate.

My Gears stored inside with the helmets in the built in wardrobe and rest in a large wooden chest with side air vents for circulation.

My gear is all over the place:
helmets in their place on a bookshelf in garage. Gloves next to them. Not like NorcalBoys... it is a shelf that is never dusted and has random books, covers, motorcycle bits.

Jackets hang in the garage from the rafter or over the seat on the bike, or if I wear it into the house on the chair at the head of the table, or on the foosball table, or over the couch.

Boots in a closet, but which one? or were they muddy and left by the door?

    Is there a "right" answer?

Seriously Ron, do you have a cleaning service to take care of your house and dust your gear off or what? You drive a D7 Dozer and have a shelf to display helmets next to models... and the floor is clean? I am afraid to go near places that nice after all the "you break it, you buy it" signs from my childhood.
