honda ones are nice.. fit a full size helmet order them to match your RWB but pricey list out@ 1000$ could try www.davidsilverspares.co.uk if they have the right color alot cheaper.I think bags are actually made by givi for honda.

    Soft Bags

I use a pair of soft bags by Rapid Transit, The Recon 45 bags. I like the soft bags beacuse they are easy to add, remove and store. Not to mention A LOT less expensive. My original concern using soft bags on the 6th gen was the location of the exhaust. I was assured by the regional Rapid Transit rep that there would not be a heat issue with the bags and after two years, I have had no issue of the heat from the exhaust on the soft bags.
The Recon 45 bags are small and really only good to carry extras back and forth to work or for bringing home small items from the store. They might work for a weekend getaway but I think that would be stretching it a bit. For multi day touring, I would step up to the Recon 77. Which I plan to do.

I am interested if any other folks use similar soft bags and what their experience has been.

45 Recon Bags [IMG] Road gear makes a nice pair but they are a bit expensive for communitng but if you travel a lot maybe not so much.

elf - two factory side cases: my full face fits in one side, the jacket fits in the other side, the all lock.
factory top case: two full face helmets fit next to each other, or my helmet and jacket fit in as well. The top case gives a passenger a backrest as well. But it looks dorky. There are a bunch of threads on top-vs-side cases if you are looking down that road.

You could also look at Givi's site. They did the factory bags for Honda and they make quality gear.

I'd skip the hard case liners from Honda. My wife got me one for the topcase and I've never used it.... but tell her I do.

Full face will not fit in Corbin Beatle Bags. I think that they are the best looking, but not the most practical. They are over priced, and company sucks, if you have a problem.
If I was to do it again, I'd go with Hondaline, or Givi.

Who uses soft bags and what brand? (Again sticking with the 6th Gen). I love the look of the hard bags while on but hate the look of the mounting brackets when off.

I'm looking for a good pair of soft bags for the 2 or 3 long weekend rides I'll do. The rest of the time I want to keep the bike as it normally looks.

I just ordered the Tourmaster cortech tribag setup which only ran $170 plus tax, no ship charge. It was as cheap as I could find. Also I have a large tourmaster tank bag that will hold my helmet just fine. Between all of the bags I believe I could carry 2 weeks worth of stuff if necessary. I also just got the Givi tall windscreen and what a night n day difference. Well worth the $95. PS, the bags are the SPORT! The regulars are kinda boxy looking, would look fine on a vstrom but horrible on our bikes. The sport types actually look like they are factory and belong.

gixxer your bike looks great what kinda windshield is that??? Nozzle and PuCaudata I am very glad you both approve of my sentence structure, puntcuation and spelling. I wonder why it really upsets or bothers you two so much but then again there are alot of unsolved mysteries in our universe. I also appreciate the information on the topic at hand. Even though Pucaudata did not give me any information about the bags for the motorcycle in question just a retarded, egotisical, pompas, i'm gayer then you comment .... .!..`(.)L(.)' ..!.

Are they any special step (like drilling or cutting) to put them on or is it a straight bolt-on affair? I got my '06 last weekend and plan to order the OEM bags in a couple of weeks.

yes, you need to drill or enlarge using round file on holes in passenger foot rest and plastic fender as well (cant remember what size drill). the best advice i can give is leave all the bolts as loose as possible so every thing lines up.
