Well we all love our bikes i guess the vfr the most as a complete ride. I was wondering who rode this weekend?? what you seen where you went?? I rode around near my house just to get to ride went and got gas filled it up  pulled outta gas station to get on highway cracked the throttle and it just wheelied about a foot off the ground. It caught me by surprize didn't know it had it in it(power wheelie) maybe the leos kn filter work, I hit second front got light again small wheelie then just smooth until the top of 4th just cruised ..it didn't have any off that off idle hesitation I 've experienced before maybe its finally really broke in 1400 miles who knows.. I then went to the country almost hit a bird with my helmet glad i missed h8 to scratch that suomy then went around some twistys at a slow pace, becuase sometimes the trucks get dirt on the road there after it rains. Then i cuaght up to the 10 speed bike gang s who love to take up the whole street:mad: 3 4 wide. so i slowed down pulled in the clutch rolled about 40 yards like that until i got next to them then held thottle open for a second let out the clutch and watched the reaction in my mirror..lol after that went through a few more corners and almost hit a squirell he got lucky i dont brake for smaLL animals either them or me.(deer cow different story) i know texas thing anyhoo, Then i got back out in the suburban areas to head home and you always got that one car that has to pass you..they pass me then next to them a the light oh its so cool to make them know their car is that slow or my bike is that fast.. ride next to them gas on off while they reeming the crap outta motor did that until i hit mid second then said goodbye:wink: almost home now watching the kids in minivan climb over each other to look at my motorcycle im checking out momma with her low cut top on then we go different ways back into my nieghbor hood garage sale going on watch out people run to those things basically idled in first to get through the caous. got to my driveway parked it took off alpinesstar leather jacket helmet got a drink then washed her off wiped her down checked if needed chain lube looked at in for a minute put it away till next time...AAHHHHHHHH its the little things in life like that make all the bad things disapear.........................................

I ride year round up here in NYC. I rode to Boston yesterday with 2 of my club members yesterday and got back this morning. I got dogged coming back (no highbeams again and faceshield on helmet was so fogged up there was condensation - damn Nolan modular) trying to keep up with a ZX10 & GSXR1000. The road was pitch black and I kept losing the road, when I could see it was only 10 to 15ft at the most (temp was below 30) and the pace was 100 - 120mph. My ego is badly brusied, but I have a better helmet on order and got my Orsam Silverstars and shims) and will be back to hopefully redeem myself. I want to say the important thing is I made it there and back safely, but damn it sucks getting totally thrashed. Also gotta find out if I got a short or sumthin because this is the second time my highbeams have gone out on me. Next time is gonna be different. At least my buddies know I can ride, but gettin ribbed hard sucks.

I rode it in downtown Great Falls last night. I took it out right after I waxed it (Turtle Wax Ice is good stuff, y'all)...it looks magnificent under street lights. I don't know why, but street lights have a way of making shiny look shinier, don't you think? Earlier in the day, I rode it to the turn-off for a missile alert facility close to Great Falls (about 30 miles east of town). Today, I think I'm going to go south of town about 30 minutes towards Helena. It's still a little cold to go really far out anywhere.

No time for riding this weekend, I have to head back up to NorCal again. I'm sure I'll win the grungiest bike contest at the BBQ next weekend.

Last weekend, sometime between the water main breaking and becoming homeless, I squeezed in a ride through the Santa Maria valley wine country (aka. the farm country).

    SLOav8r,

What kind of trunk bag is that? Do you notice any stability problems because it is soft?

Cortech sport tailbag. Very well constructed for a softbag. Expands out quite a bit too.

Part of the Cortech tailbag system

I don't have their saddlebags, just my RKA's. Bag held up great crossing the country twice. As you can see it was quite overloaded.

I was going to go out on the bike today, but we've got 36 mph winds with gust over 50. Add in the blowing dust and reduced visibility and I chickened out. Tomorrow is supposed to be calmer so I'll ride in to work. Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

I rode to my security gate, turned around, and rode back to my parking stall. It started raining. It was an awesome ride though. One of the best.

I dunno. I must be sick but i get a rush rid'n in the wind. Especially overtaking the rigs on the hwy.

Hey emon07. I ride though the winter too on the wet coast (similar to Seattle but wetter). I changed to a Shark RSR2 helmet last year. It has a "racing breath guard" that captures your breath and vents it directly out the helmet vents. So long as your head is dry before you put your helmet on, and you open the visor when stopped, the face shield stays really fair;y clear from fog. It's a bit pricey but well worth it for those who ride in the colder climes.

As for the origin of this thread, nope...didn't get out Saturday or Sunday. Had family things to do. Go'n out first thing Monday though!
