Hello everyone, just put down a deposit on a '07 RWB VFR800
The bike is out of state, found a great deal online, so it will be a couple of weeks before I can get out there to pick it up. Funny thing is there is an RWB sitting in the window of a dealer literally across the street from me but he won't match the price I found online. The savings is enough for me to take the drive, 1500 bucks less and this one has ABS to boot.
I'm from the Chicago burbs, I currently have an 2003 Yamaha R6 Special edition (blk/red flames) and a 2005 Kawasaki Meanstreak. I've only been riding since '03 but am completely hooked, I commute everyday on the bikes when temps are about 40 degrees and up and unless it's raining before I leave. Thats about as far down as my current gear will take me, maybe some heated gear is in the future. I have been lurking here and at VFRD doing my research on the pro's and con's and have to say both seem like a great sites, friendly, knowledgeable people, seem to be more into motorcycling, than posturing. I wanted the option to take a sportbike on a trip every now and then, not just the Meanstreak and the R6 just wouldn't do for long hauls and thats what led me to the VFR. Actually I didn't even know the VFR existed until I heard someone talking about how much they wanted an RC51 last summer. So I went to the Honda website to check it out, thats when I saw the VFR. Seemed to be just what I was looking for, a comfortable, awesome looking sportbike that you can ride all day, not to mention the sweet sound of the twin and it has matching hard bags to boot. Honda how about a little marketing, you just might sell a few more of these.

Hey 2wheels. Cheers on your newest purchase. You're gonna love the viffer. Being just Southwest of you (Quad-Cities, Bettendorf Iowa), I know there are many happy people in our area who own the vfr. Of course, with the weather being the way it is right now, I can't do anything but work on my mods right now. Just had another snow storm today. I-80 was completely shutdown because of ice and blowing snow.

Hopefully the weather will calm down here soon. Congrats again on your purchase.

Hey gwolever, we got some snow again as well, not as much as they predicted though, mostly went south of us. Can't wait to pick her up thats for sure, usually get some rides in during the winter but we have had so much snow this year and the roads have stayed littered with salt and sand.

Yes, welcome. Good for you for getting a better deal. We vote with our money...
I think you'll be glad you went for ABS...it was important for me when I got my 07 recently. Safety first!

But I have to rib you...the sound of the "twin"?? Huh? Its a V-4, baby!

It makes you wonder why the dealer wouldn't negotiate considering you're in close proximity to the online deal that you got. You're right on the money about the lack of marketing that Honda does on the VFR. I definitely think that they could sell more if they tried to. However, that could potential take away from CBR sales. Congratulations on your purchase. You're going to love the bike.

I should have mentioned that the other dealer is in Ohio, about a 4.5 hour drive and 280 miles. The local RWB though has been on the floor for a year, you would think he would want to move it.
