The grid is set now for the first WSBK races of the year at the Losail circuit in Qatar.

Troy Corser took his 41st pole postion with a qualifying time of 1'58.053, shattering his circuit best lap recored from last year by .4 of a second. The surprise of the session was the 2-3 of the Sterilgarda Ducati bikes ridden by Rueben Xaus and Max Biaggi.

Troy Bayliss was a dissapointing 7th on the Ducati Corse 1098 after having been within striking distance of Corser up to the Superpole session.

The top 10 were as follows:

    1. Troy Corser - YAM
    2. Rueben Xaus - DUC
    3. Max Biaggi - DUC
    4. Max Neukirchner - SUZ
    5. Lorenzo Lanzi - DUC
    6. Nori Haga - YAM
    7. Troy Bayliss - DUC
    8. Yukio Kagayama - SUZ
    9. Carlos Checa - HON
    10 Michel Fabrizio - DUC

Ten Kate received their bikes late from Honda, so they are a bit behind in development and testing. They are a very strong team and should be able to make more of an impact as the season progresses........
