Less the v4 it's a bigger vfr imo I have a couple guys I ride with that have em, nice bike, a tad porky, less nimble but a good long haul sports bike of sorts ooo then theres that 1100cc of power, but it's still no VFR. just something about the V4 that makes the bike what it is, if ya know what I mean

SLOav8r has one. Might want to inquire with him. <--- second that. He has actually typed up a pretty detailed comparison on the bikes. You could search for posts by him and probably find all the info you need. He took the XX all the way across the country and back last year.

Have always liked a black Super Blackbirds stealthy looks and really wanted one before buying my original Gen 6 VFR but at 5' 9" found through test rides the longer lower reach and fat tank that splayed legs was a little uncomfortable when compared against the stock VFR's ( for me ) perfect ergonomics and as RVFR suggests the BB's ultra smooth IL4 while goes woosh isn't a patch on the V4 for interesting character and sound...

Well, imagine a VFR that can do 180+ The right rider (not me) can hold his own in the canyons or at the track on this bike, but honestly that's what I got the VFR for. For me, the Blackbird is at home on high speed highway runs, country roads with long, fast sweepers and making those 1300cc bikes sweat a bit. If the VFR is a sport tourer, the XX is a Super-Sport Tourer. Like every (not modern) honda, it does everything very good and has bulletproof reliability.

Definitely hit me up with questions, if I can't answer XX Firefighter can since he bought his new in 2000. And yah, 1999 on is fuel injected and the way to go. Basically pick the year by the color you want. 99:Black, 00:Titanium, 01:(lame)Red, 02:Silver, 03:Black. 2001 they did upgrade the instrument cluster to digital, other then that no major changes.

It's a serious touring machine, made it from the left coast to New York City and back in 10 days.

i rode my buddys and they are really nice. but its a lot of bike to me. otherwise they would be great touring bikes for long rides and if you wanted to you could make it very fast. 2 years before the busa' it was dubbed the worlds fastest production bike. :D i love honda.

There will always be a soft spot in my heart for the XX, even though I have never owned one. I would snatch one up if they would have released it with factory hard bags. It's funny how Honda started the craze and everyone else took forever to catch up....

I owned a '97 Blackbird for almost 3 years and put over 20k miles on it. Make sure you're holding on tight when you crack the throttle open. The '00 VFR I have now accelerates well. The XX is a rocketship.
On a sub-7 hour trip from SF to Vegas, it was buttery smooth (much, much smoother than the VFR) and rock solid. At 150 on the speedo there was no twitch, no vibes, very little wind buffetting, lots and lots of speed.
Like the man above said, it's a great touring bike. Much better than it is as a sport bike, just a bit on the heavy side. The reason I got rid of it was that it was way too hard to keep it under 120. You start out doing the speed limit, re-adjust your wrist once and you've added 50mph without feeling a thing.
Occasionally I miss the Blackbird, especially the rocket-like acceleration, but then I just throw the VFR through some twisties and everything is well with the world again. Besides, I like the way the V4 sounds, more throaty bass, less howl.
