    Interesting Thought

I'm not sure if I would like a chain guard on my bike...I s'pose it could be useful. But I think it would take away from the bike. Keep in mind I have a 1985 Vf700f, and it doesn't have a lot of fairings or covers on it to begin with. Maybe with a full fairing bike it would look better?

    Well that's MHO.

    Any other takers?

And no I don't know where to pick one up. Anybody else?

    Chain Guard

Hmm, I just took it off and thought that looked the best of all. Way I figured, that bit of plastic isn't going to prevent much injury if the chain breaks anyways. Looks even better now with the 50T rear sprocket and the gold DID chain.

I agree it does look better with it off but in florida there is so much sand i'm hesitant to leave it off

It's there more to keep chain wax off the upper reaches of the bike, not to keep the chain from removing your calf muscle... There is a nice VFR guard out there I think it may be the Thurn guard that flame mentioned, and YES it isn't cheap.

I have a Thurn chain guard on my bike, it looks decent, and I don't think it was too expensive. Check my gallery for pics.

I would be hesitant to remove the chain guard on these bikes, as the BRAKE HOSE is held away from the moving parts by it. In the pic of the 3G above, you can see it, just dangling in space.

Brake fluid all over your rear tire? Not a good situation.

Thurn motorsports on mine....around $130 US shipped. Then I had it powder coated gloss black....I think it looks 1000 times better than stock. I can finally look at the left side of the bike and not cringe. See my gallery for pics of it.

I made my own, I used aluminum strips, and wire harness tie to hold the brake cable. Just don't look at the bike, this was taken after I was rear ended. It's simple and works great.

    Chain guard

I went with the hugger with integral chain guard. No splashes, no grease everywhere. Pyramid Plastics in carbon.

No, and No. Tach isn't worth sh!t, and the rest of it is only fair. Product support from TrailTech just fizzled when they couldn't figure out why the tach didn't work - in the end they delayed it past when I could ship it back to them and then just stopped responding. SO, I wouldn't bother... if I was doing it again, I would rig up the big ugly original one that WORKS.
