after a hell of a weekend blasting around the back roads of central texas with a friend (i think we clicked off over 700 miles on our bikes this weekend) i realized how nice it would be to have some headphones and some source of music playing instead of just hearing my little V4 roar around central texas.

so we've all had those days where we're riding our asses off, be it touring around, going to work, or whatever. some of us have music playing through a pair of headphones, but some of us are cursed to listen to that radio playing in our heads.

my question is what does everybody else hear while theyre laying rubber down on the pavement?

ex: for some reason, the whole weekend, i could hear this song playing over and over in my head:

Well I don't listen to music when I ride, but there are songs I consider road songs or 'speed' songs.

    Some are:

    She Sells Sanctuary-The Cult
    Another Thing Comin-Judas Priest
    Cretin Hop-The Ramones
    Hellnation-Dead Kennedy's
    Black Math-White Stripes

These are just a few songs that I get really amped up on and then I chill out and want to ride. Love the lyrics too!

As far as what goes through my head? Generally its things Keith Code, David Hough and others say or have written.

Man the only thing I want to listen to is the music my VFR makes, ha, one of the reasons I love to ride, sheessh! last thing I need to do is listen to something that could be distracting.

Anything Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren or South Symphony. However saying that, I never ride with headphones. Listening to the engine, and what comes out of the pipe does it for me.

Well, if I don't listen to the music in my head, I am left with only the voices. And those aren't very nice.:gossip: :spy:

I'd second Ramones... one of their live albums... 1-2-3-4 !!!!

    Rush - Finding my way

Crue - kick start my heart

Liquid Soul - Cabbage Roll (Chicago acid jazz group)

???Nozzle Mystery artist??? - Radar Love (who does this song and what is their other hit?... hint: it is piercing)

Headed through the Smokey mountains in 1985 on the way to Daytona Beach, FL from Valparaiso, IN in my buddy's RX-7 we had Vivaldi's Spring blasting as we came down to Atlanta through the pine forests. It was one of the first really warm spring days. I will forever associate that song with fresh pine, twisty roads, reving engines on the way to some fine beaches... oh, and it didn't hurt it was bike week when we arrived. So yeah, Vivaldi works for me.

    or just helmet beat-bop.

(If I every visit EVT, it'll be Ol' Suzanna the entire way)

on my mind.....last song I heard on the radio that day! Last time it was "no one" by Alicia Keys.....over and over.....either that or I sometimes amuse myself by humming odd tunes from out of nowhere.
