I have a 1985 VF500F that is my project. i know original is better and i am always going to keep my original parts but i want to have something crazy for now and go back to stock later maybe. but my question is i have been researching for about 6 to 7 months and am still kinda stuck. does anyone know of any other body style fairings that would be able to be adapted to the my frame w/o too much hassle?!?! i looked into the RC30 front end and the NS400 front end and also the NC30/VFR400R front end.................... otherwise i didnt really see anything else that might be able to be fitted on........... any advice is GREATLY appreciated i love this community and am sure you guys will help me out. thanx all. I like the look of the exposed engine myself, it's like "Hey look, I my engine's exposed unlike every other sportish bike out there!" But yeah, if you can get a hold of the VF500F2 fairings, I'd be down with that look, too.
now i have found a really amazing website.... http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/hondaz/NS4001985-86.htm that is just the link for the NS400 body i was looking at getting. i dont know if that is the same as the FII or not.... but anyways great website just tryin to figure things out. thanx a lot. and i think the whole naked look is really nice but with my age and newer bikes running around i kinda like the full fairing look. but lol i am a young un' tryin to fit in lol so who knows. but you and anyone who reads this should check out the airtech-streamlining.com website they have great replacement parts for everything!!!
lol oops didnt check before i typed. thats a problem of mine lol. nah i am just sayin the fad with today just doesnt run with naked bikes as much. lol but my philosophy is...... no matter what you ride the point is you ride and you enjoy doing it. so it really doesnt matter. lol. thats what i love about bikers.
True that. Red/White/Blue with naked internals catches eyes. Maybe that's not the best for me right now as I'm still not that graceful starting from a stop.
well you have an amazing bike to learn and start on. i got mine just over a year ago give or take. and they are just amazing. they have the power you want but not too aggressive for newer riders. i love them thats why i dont want to upgrade to a newer bike i just want to make mine run like a champ and keep her!
Likewise. My bike only has 14k on the OD, for how much I paid for it (virtually nothing, 900 dollars) I could see investing bit more. The only thing that concerns me is that parts; hard to come by.
that is way too freaky lol. i only paid 900 for mine. i got it from a buddy of mine. it was a cheap investment and i mainly use it for work and school because my other vehicle is a 99 silverado aka... gas hog. honestly it is worth putting the extra few bucks into. so far i have paid 20 bucks for an exhaust, roughly 10 bucks for gaskets, 120 for a new x-ring chain, and like 200 for new tires. the bike runs amazing and i havent really put a lot into it. but with the whole wanting to change up my front end there is another 400ish and i am going to do the F2 Rear and Front Wheel conversion from Daugherty Motorsports because i want to put aftermarket wheelson it and thats the only way i see it happening. i just got my camera fixed and i am going to be posting up some new pics here soon i'll let you know so you can check it out!
Technically, all of the early Interceptors with the chain driven cams are affected. It was a design issue. If you do a search online, you can find that the VF500F, VF700/750F, VF1000F and VF1000R are all candidates for the cam wear. However, it was the bigger bikes that were most affected. To play it safe, I installed a top end oiling kit on my 500 when it had 600 miles on it.
