Media here calls the show the "JACKASS of Automobiles" pertaining to Johnny Knoxvilles show in the states "JackAss".

I love the show, but some of the things they do I just roll my eye's & think maybe it's just that dry British Humor

Oh back on topic, dump 1.5 mil into the R1 & I'll bet it will smoke the Bugatti :biggrin:

I am sure it was a repeat, but a couple of days ago TopGear had a race between the Bugatti and scooter/light plane/train/bus from Italy to London. Of course the Bugatti won, but if the plane pilot (James) had his full cert on the plane (Cessna 182) and hadn't had to put down for the night in Lille, it would have been no contest.

Great show, except Jeremy Clarkson hates motorcycles.....

the TOP GEAR guys are very funny and very informative.

I actually thought they were going to die,when they tried to go across Alabama, though.

 

He also seems to mention it at every opportunity , at least his "dislike" of motorcycles is balanced by "Hamster" Hammonds & James May love of them. :smile:

That Alabama episode with the pink slogans painted large on cars somewhat warrents the Jackass tag in taking a stupid risk to stir up things, they probably thought at the time it was like swimming with sharks while safe in a cage...

Top gear is a great show, if I had any TV at all, I would want that to be one of my channels!
I used to work for Mercedes Benz in Germany and got to see the Mclaren SLR a lot, thats a 500,000 euro supercar, the thing only comes in automatic though, they say they havent found a way to make a standard transmission that wont shred itself under the power of their engine....

 

I thought the mini off the olymipic ski jump was the best....

Yeeesh!!! I just checked out that video....that car is incredible. The boys from Weissach still no a thing or two about cars...holy sh*t.

And it sounds bloody fantastic, too! I'd rather have the Porsche than the Bugatti any day of the week.

The irony of these silly exotics is a person with good engineering sense and plenty of money can build a more survivable, less maintenance intensive, nearly as fast car for a fraction of the cost. And good god, you don't need 16 cylinders and four turbos to make a piddly 1000 HP.

 

I didn't know that Jeremy Clarkson hated bikes, but I do know after watching quite a few of his YouTube videos he is a crappy driver.

He is really full of himself. Too bad they can't get professional drivers to test the same cars that he does.
