Just curious, what would you choose: 5th gen VFR + a fuel injected Blackbird OR trade the VFR in on a ZX14 and have one bike - same money spent. Not serious, just kicking around ideas in the middle of winter.

hmm, hard to say. either way sounds good. i like only having insurance for one bike, but having two bikes means you always have one to ride even if one is getting fixed... i think i like the zx14 better than the blackbird but not sure... tough choice...

Third option: buy a blower kit for the VFR, assuming it's around 3-4 grand.

If I had room, I'd do the two bikes.

You could title both, then just move the tag/insurance back and forth, unless you planned to trade off riding them every week.

Since it is just hypothetical, why not just get all three?

I would much rather have 2 bikes but I wouldn't choose the Blackbird as the second. I would like to keep the VFR as a competent commuter/ tourer then go buy a play bike-Triumph Speed triple or 675. Possibly a 600rr or 1000rr. Something to screw around on.

Well I'll have to agree with a lower life form Gen 6 proponent rider

    j/k::wink:

To me the VFR & the bird are close in the same thing with just different engine configurations

So I wouldn't mind the VFR 5th Gen & something totally opposite like a real sport bike like a 600 or 1000RR, or a naked bike like the '06 or newer speed triple:biggrin:

Then again you could get a big street legal enduro & get SM rims & tyres for it & with the multi uses of the enduro have 6 bikes with just 2 bikes !!!!!

Street legal enduro can be a
    1. street legal dual sport
    2. Road racing bike (in SM format - see my signiture)
    3. SuperMoto bike (also in SM format)
    4. High gas milage commuter & urben traffic war vehicle
    5. dirt bike
    6. Cross tourer (touring cross state or country on asphalt & dirt roads) opening up more areas to explore & tour !

Pretty much on the same page as you but I would go the Ducati route with either the 848 or 1098S for the second bike :hungry:

Of those two options I vote Option #1.
But I would personally sell the Bird and buy a RZ350 and a used KTM200 to go with the Gen 5.
