I have this nose when I pull the clutch.
I know it is the variable air intake valve. After looking in the service manual I understand the valve should open at 5500 rpm not in idle.

I do feel my bike is not as bowlful as it was and the fuel consumption is high.

Anyone know what is the reason?

You can dispense with the flapper valve (and the snorkel) altogether like so:

    Thanks,

You proved the bike can run without this valve.
Do you know why Honda put it in the first place?
Do you know if the valve behavior indicates to much vacuum in the system?

Valve is there to reduce intake noise. I think what you are hearing is normal for the valve. Mine also would open and close with the clutch lever at idle in neutral. About half way out with the clutch, the valve would rattle. If it bothers you (like it did me) just pull and plug the line, that way the valve is aways open.

Just wondering if anyone has had to adjust the idle down after doing this mod?
