    I need some.

I think my bar ends may be hard to remove, and prolly shot....

who knows what kind of bar ends and grips will fit my 87 VFR700F2?

It depends on whether or not you have the inner damper or not. If do not have an inner damper you can measure the diameter of your bar (should be 7/8") and just buy universals. Flea Bay has a metric assload of them if you do a search. Please tell me you're not looking at faux carbon fiber..........

faux carbon would work just as good as anything else

I'm not trying to dress up the bike by any means...just trying to make it functional again!

It's ugly, and will remain ugly forever!

btw, wtf is the "inner damper", and universals for both (ends and grips)?

I have a set of bar ends from an '86 that should fit your bike, but they've been down and would need to be turned on a lathe or reshaped by hand to look well. PM if you're interested.

thanks xrayhound, but I want new ones. I have bar ends, and if I didn't need to replace the grips, I'd just leave them on. I just don't think I'll be able to get them back on if I take the old ones off.

Unless you have to cut them off, they should just screw right back on. Are they stuck or something? A can of PB Blaster might be the answer.

Hey koorbloh, I just removed the bar ends off my '86 viffer. I had to use a closed end wrench over the allen wrench for leverage, it was hard but it worked. when i got a couple of turns on it i sprayed some wd on the threads then tightened it a turn then loosened it again and repeated until they turned reasonably easy. hope that helps if you still couldny get em.

I haven't tried to take them off yet, but my dad got me some allen head sockets for xmas....that, some wd-40, and a breaker bar....they should come off...

but the part that I'm worried about is getting the allen head in the screw...it looks like it's been drug on the pavement about 8 or 9 times...

but, are they 7/8" or an 1"?

sounds like we are in the same boat!

I bought mine, test rode it, rode it 2 other times...one was about 15 minute ride around town, the other was down the block and back when I did my fork seals.

    can't wait for spring!
