New to the board. My brother has a 91 VFR-750F with 21,000 miles that he wants to sell to me so I came here for a little research.

My friend... that endeavor took me 18yrs. Best of luck to ya. May I suggest a whole pile of psycho babble to the point at where SHE is convincing YOU that you need the bike.

Just a few points...I envy you for several reasons...you are about 2 months closer to your VFR than I am to mine AND you have your brother to share motorcycles with. I lost mine 10 years ago to a sudden illness. He always loved bikes and I didn't get into them until a few years ago...he never got a chance to see his little bro ride. So, cherish the chance, tell him you love him...then, grab the bike for as little cash as possible!

And sorry to move off-topic but I have to ask Derstuka, why did you change your avatar? I always liked your last one but have to admit watching the new one for SOME TIME! Where is the original video from? I always appreciate your perspective on the forums. Thanks for the info and the laughs!

That's the nicest thing I've ever seen written for the dive bomber and I almost thought Stuka set up another account for a second.

Sorry to hear about your borther... :frown:

    Enjoy your rides :typing:

    Thanks for the sentiments Nozzle.

I thought "The Dive Bomber" has been quite mild in all of the posts I have read since finding the forum a few months ago (and I have read ALOT of old posts in researching the VFR--thanks to all!). Some other regular posters seem to like to stir the soup with fairly strongly worded replies but Der Stuka doesn't seem to very often. (Oh, my bro loved German WWII hardware and especially the Stuka...I can't fly one but I can play the Stones real loud and twist the throttle in his memory!)

Yeah, it is an eye-catcher. Glad you likey. I don't know exactly where it is from, but, it says Mediaset at the bottom which is an Italian company, and it has a cut off "videos" up top, so I am assuming it was filmed somewhere overseas and appeared on one of our funniest videos shows.

Awww shucks, it is like I have my own fan club!

Thanks for props. Trust me, I have gotten into it several times in the past, but now mostly I am trying to just mellow out and let things glllllllllllllllllide these days! Stirring the pot is what we have KC around here for. His comments are sure to get things rolling. My gf still jokes each time I am on VFRworld and says "are you arguing again." She was around when I got wound up a few times, and now she makes fun of me. :blah: :blah:

My condolences for your bro. I am sure he would love the fact that you ride on in his memory.

Thanks for the quick answer! It sorta looked like Bob Barker at first but I couldn't imagine him being part of something like that even if it was so obviously "set-up." I love the fake "I'm so modest" look and actions.

Anyway, with 900+ posts, you deserve some fan club action...you senior members have made this site what it is...a great resource for Viffers in particular and MC riders in general. Keep it up!

Tell your wife that a real man always should own a good bike.

And a beerpump in the livingroom. Hehehe:biggrin:

And the garage key is yours, not hers.

I would have watched the price as right a hell of a lot more if Bob Barky man was doing that to his showgirls! Nice way to pump up the ratings! Yoooowzer! :jaw:

That's part of the problem of the wife convincing since I have a shiny Aprilia Futura in the garage already:wink:
You know how it goes "you already have..."
My brother is actually trying to talk me into getting a newer model. My main reason for liking this model is the sound which I am not sure the newer models have to the same degree as this one. Can anyone shed some light on the difference in sound between the generations? Is it a function of exhaust pipe configuration or something deeper?

Well.... I do undersend what you are talking about. If you want another bike (and I really do know why  ) Then I remind you, The garage key is your, not hers    If that does not work, go for the beer pump.
