What is the main difference between the 3rd gen (90-93) and 4th gen (94-97) swingarm. I know 4th gen are lighter. Im wondering if the shock hole in the swing arm is the same size and in the same spot. I am about to do a conversion on my sv650. I know there is no modification needed on the 4th gen for the shock to fit through.

So basically, does anyone know if the shock holes are the same on the swingarms from 3rd to 4th gens.

    Thanks

i just lost a bid on a VFR on ebay, i really want a VFR. i plan on getting one for my next bike.

Not sure of the answer but I do have a 3g with the back hub and wheel off at the moment so if you need a specific detail or measurement let me know.

The SV shock is offest to the left (if your looking at the bike from the back). What i need to know is if there is enough room in the shock hole on the 90-93 vfr swingarm to have the svshock come down through.

if someone could find a good message point used a spot on the swing arm. maybe like outter edge of the chain. message from that spot to where the shock hole starts.

its a crappy one i made but it may help.

or i thought of somethint else.

if someone with a 90-93 swingarm and someone with a 94-97 swingarm message the distance to the shock hole. that would solve it. I know the 94-97 work with the sv650's shock (except for the shock mount)

someone on VFRD said they think they heard somewhere that the 90-93 swingarm used the same casting as the 94-97

    ^ is that correct?

its not. the linkage mount is different. and the 90-93 i found out is just a bit wider at pivot point.
