    Jefferson?

I guess Ashe Co. puts you close to Jefferson. I live just over the hill near Johnson City, TN. My grandmother still lives in Jefferson. I have a lot of family in Ashe. All roads in Ashe are great for bikes, not so good for semi's, but great for bikes!

Yea, big trucks often find it difficult going. I ride over to Shady Valley, TN. alot. I'm only about a half hour from there. On weekends in the summer, it's getting bad as Deals Gap for the LEO. I've passed as many as eight in ten miles.
My favorite loop is NC 88, NC 16, Va 58, 133 back to TN, 421S to TN167 back to NC88. Google map that one for fun.
It's about three and a half hours, depending on the company you ride with.
    Ahh....December,.....Motorcycle day dreamin'.....

Havelock, NC at least for the next year to year and half then probly back to Cali. I dont think there are many VFR's in the Jacksonville to Havelock area. Manly cause the dealers all said they would have to order the bike in.

Well I have had the Silver 05 for a little over a month now and have put on almost 2,000 miles. The weather is getting better and better. Should only have one or 2 more cold snaps for the spring. Seems there is always one bad one this time of year.

just moved to Durham from San Diego, and i'm SORELY missing some good weekend rides through the rural twisty backroads. any locals want to clue me in on where to ride? seems like all i see are squids running around on chromed out Busas and CBRs with lengthened swingarms. TELL ME THERE'S MORE THAN THAT GOING ON HERE!!!!

also always down to tinker on the bikes, or whatever.

    Mike

PS - i commute from Durham to Greensboro daily on I-40, so if you see a big ape on a red 6th gen, wave hi.

PPS - hey rhino, how's that jacket working out for you?

Hey whiteboyslo I'm in Durham too. If you see a yellow 5th gen it's probably me. There's plenty of back roads. Guess Rd north into the sticks to 501 up to South Boston, VA is a nice ride. Shoot me a PM.

I'm from DC, but the folks live in Raleigh, and I make the ride down at least once a month right how. I've been riding New Light Church Rd out through Granville county and having a blast on my visits. Let me know if you have weekend group rides in the Wake county area.

Just got my first VFR Thursday before last. Wrecked it on Tuesday. so a week later. I'm hobbling around on a fractured ankle and wrist and some decent road rash on my elbows and shoulders. SO.. I won't we riding for at least a few weeks.. while I heal and fix my bike.
Watch out for that dip on the bridge on New Hill Rd. at the Holly Springs city limit. :) So I have a crashed 86 VFR700F. This is the longest I've been out of the saddle in a year.

Hey Guys, thought I would drop by and and say hey to the other VFR'ers in the eastern part of the state and yes, to all of you up in the Mtns. Just got my 2008 VFR last month and ran across this website, so I figured I would stop and say hey.
