Accessories for Sale Helibars for 5th gen, calipers, reservoir, steel lines for 3rd gen

Set of HeliBars that were on my 2000 for about a year, fits all fifth gen and pretty sure they will fit a 2007. Instructions included, some scratches, please look at pictures. $old shipped to your door.

Third gen brake calipers with reservoir and stainless steel lines. Probably need rebuilding. $75 shipped to your door.

Does the installation require any changes to wiring or plumbing for switches, brake/clutch lines, etc.? Or are the factory bits long enough to reach without stress?

Installation instructions for 5th and 6th gen are on the Helibar website. They say "little to no modifications to cables and hydraulic lines. I bought one of my 6th gen VFR's with helibars already installed and my cables and hydraulic lines are in stock condition. I'm pretty sure the tabs that line up the banjos are still on mine. I will check to make sure tomorrow.

Thanks, I read through the instructions, good to know.
I did see that the bars for the 5th and 6th generations have different part numbers, so jethrocephus might be wrong about the 2007.

If you read the instructions, there is a small tab that has to be ground off with a Dremel, it was very easy to do. I’m certain there was an Anniversary bike on line somewhere that had fifth gen Helibars on it, possibly on BaT. In any case, they will fit perfectly on your 2000.

Riding a 2000, I did reply to your message with my email, best to contact thru there. Thanks.

Okay, sent email

Afik, the only difference in the 5th and 6th gen clip-ons is the diameter of the fork tubes. 5th gens are 41mm and 6th gens are 43mm, so a 6th gen set would probably not clamp down on a 5th gen bike. A 5th gen set might fit on a 6th gen if it can be spread open enough without mis-shaping anything.

As for mods, I have a 6th gen that I purchased used with Helibars already installed. All hoses and wires are OEM, so no mods needed there. The instructions for Helibars on both 5th and 6th gens say to saw off the tabs that index the banjo fittings on both master cylinders. The tabs are still on my master cylinders, so this can be done with no mods. On the 6th gen, there are two tabs on the clutch master and for some reason, there is only one on the brake master from the factory (both of my 6th gens have one tab on the brake master). The hose does touch the top of the fork tube on the clutch side, but does not pose a problem. BTW, I did not butcher those bolt heads. I've never taken the banjos off.

Have you sold the Helibars?

Yes he did! They're at my house now. Will go on my bike at first opportunity.
