lost key

    i missplayced the key on one of my bikes ('88 honda hawk) thats been off the road for a few years since ive been on the vtr only, so i have the key# and go to my small local keyshop and he cuts one for $15------------OK, but------key works on ignition but NOT ON FUEL TANK-----thats a problem, right ?-----so IM LOOKING FOR ADVICE, anything NOT including drilling------ View attachment 1061

    It should operate all the locks--they're not sophisticated. Maybe the wafers/pins in the tank lock are worn, and the key is too perfect? Try some powdered graphite and some aggressive wiggling...
