I've commented on this bike a couple times already.

Bike has been repainted incorrectly, "1000R" decals on lowers are incorrect replicas. Upper tab cracked on left vented side cover. Bar end weights missing. Master cylinder caps not stock. Missing rad cap cover. "HONDA" decal on upper cowl incorrect, red outline that goes into the white is too wide. Something about the solo cowl and rear cowl is giving me vibes, but they could be original. No smoking gun on those. Tank has obviously been repainted as it is stated as such. And then the other obvious cracks and chips the pictures are pointing out. Mileage looks about right. Most hardware looks correct. Cobra slip ons. Missing bolts in the rear of the swingarm . Looks like the frame has been locally painted in places. Headlight surround has been painted... incorrectly. There is some red overspray on the inner Dzuz fasteners, can't be stock. While the lines generally look decent, respray was not executed great imo. The upper and lower cowls prove more than just the tank was painted.

Thanks Cap … sorry to ask you to do an inspection in something you have done before.
Bike does look shaky on sone areas.
Let’s see if we have a out of control bid war

    I think so
He should list it to sell … in other words a reasonable price.

This looks like a $4500 realistically. I dunno.

For the most part people expect Iconic, BAT and Mecum to guarantee good money, but in the last two years I have seen a lot of nice bikes not hit reserve or even come close. I have a saved FB post for an RC51 that threatens to take the bike to Iconic for sale cause it would seem he is going to make way more money. People.

I guess I get it. Everybody would like to maximize the take. It just bugs the FUCK out of me when non original, corroded shit gets bid into real survivor territory. Ruins it, and it's the idiots with money, cataracts and hard-ons fault.

I've never sold a bike. Thinking Craigslist when I do. But maybe for one of my "special bikes" - a bid platform? A pristine VF500, or RC24, or even a nice RC 26. Would need to have a reserve though....

If you think you got something "special", then by all means, set a reserve and give it a whirl.

Most of the time people have a number in their head. Add a reasonable "cushion" and try and sell it in an ad.

EDIT: I didn't mean "you" Bazza when I said "you". It was a general "you".

I have always had good luck selling on Iconic but that’s because I price them correctly. Some of these sellers are using Caps pipe !

Same. My return on Iconic has been pretty dang good, but I set reasonable reserves if not a little low. I actually called with two hours to go on the RVF to lower the reserve and it blew way past it while I was talking. Lol
