Hi all - looking for a VF1000R fuel tank. I have a 1986 model, but any of the years will work. I am in Florida, USA. Thank you!

Is this the same tank for a VF1000F?

    Nope

VF750F tanks are close, but not bolt on.

OK thanks & makes sense. I bought one from eBay marked VF1000F and used it on my '83 Euro RC15, until I could get the original tank cleaned up.

    Yeah, we discussed that before.

    That tank was obviously mis-labeled.

THIS is a VF1000F tank. It engages the front cowl in a very unique way.

Kel used a V45 tank on his custom VF1000R, as it is VERY close to the Euro VF1000R tank with the steeper rear going down to the seat. Those tanks look sick. Pretty sure he modified the tank mount and/or the frame to accommodate. I think the V45 tank is shorter length-wise.

OK thanks - good to know.

Guess that's why there was a question mark on the underside of that tank.....

I have been looking for a year now.....the tank I had just got too far gone.....I nursed it for a couple years but even with welding some areas it was just too far gone. I have never considered using a V45 tank. My bike is very nice but not a museum piece, I ride it. I wonder if I should look for a V45 tank and try it out? Any idea of the modification that is necessary?
