Modifying the Footpeg Brackets to accept modern CBR style pegs. By hand.

Yes, it sucks as much as you think it does. But I'm almost done.

Sneaking up on it as I want to maintain a nice radius at the base of the widened ears.

    Exhaust before:

    Exhaust after:

    PXL_20251113_021615381.jpg

Passenger footpegs have been eliminated. Custom struts made. I used one of the welded nubs left from the peg brackets on the subframe and pressed it flat and drilled it for the rear strut.

    PXL_20251113_021632957.jpg

The front strut goes to a rivnut in the subframe where the side cover lip opens up.

Muffler matches the rear cowl angle nicely now. I cut 3-1/2 inches off the connecting pipe of the Yosh to move it forward (and angle up more). The Yosh bracket was supposed to mount to the original muffler mount and the exhaust was WAY too far back and low and looked super dorky.

Everything obviously needs some black paint, but the hard part is over. Took me the last couple nights after work before dinner.

Clean … I like how the muffler tucks in nice and tight and follows the line of the bodywork.
    Nice job Cap !

Finished the pegs at work today on the Beartex wheel.

Clunky steel tube pegs out, modern VTR style pegs in.

Looks great. It'll be interesting to hear if the much smaller ones damp the big vibration the Very Tiny Racer makes.

I actually thought I was ordering this style I put on the Hawk when I did the same footpeg bracket mods.

    PXL_20251115_021151386.jpg

But I like the smaller version for the VTR, and they are actually replicas of the new VTR250 style pegs. And the rubber has some airspace cushion, not rubber vulcanized directly to the aluminum like the CBR900RR style, so they should be just fine for the big vibration the Very Tiny Racer makes.

Yep. And thanks to the USDOT, we didn't get that version. Honda made another version with wider mount posts and welded on completely different mounts to the sub frame for it, instead of just plugging the turn signal portions, like they did on this version. I'm sure it was so they could use the whole body for the brake/running reflector, but maaaaaaaan.

The US inner fender even still has the mounts for this version, but you have to eliminate the welded mounts for the turn signal sockets to fit and be accessible.

There is also another version that has amber sections for the turn signals. They are pretty damn hard to find.

When all was said and done with transport, taxes and then tariffs from Japan, I didn't even want to add it up. Of course I bought it off Webike like 4 days before the de minimus tariff exemption was yanked and it wasn't shipped out in time. That fucking stung when I got the bill from FedEx.

I also have a little surprise for the front winkers.

    Sick!
I have been stung 3 times for tariffs. Facking DHL raped my bank account twice. UPS wasn't too bad.
It is still cheaper and easier to get all of my parts from CMSNL than in country, even with shipping. No tariffs either.

    Partzilla can climb a D@#$%$#%
