Off topic but you guys watching the Crew 9 splash down? Amazing engineering and really gorgeous weather for this historic event!

 

The last bike I bought came with a pair of new (2024 date code) and unmounted Kenda brand tires. Front is a little narrower (100 vs. 110) and rear a little shorter (70 vs 80) than factory spec.

I don't think I will notice much difference. Will probably use on one of my not so perfect bikes anyway.

I actually really like those Kendas. You can see in that photo that they have a different profile than most tires in that price range.

They will actually work quite nicely on a VFR700/750F. 130/70 is too wide for a 500, but because of that profile it might "work", but I'm not officially recommending it.

The only thing I noticed is that they weren't that happy at the start of a ride if below 60F. The rubber just didn't instill confidence until warmed up. But if warmer, they seemed good not far down the road.

 

Wow......thanks, Capt......better news than I thought! Below 60 degrees......yeah I wouldn't even consider a ride unless it's at least 70!

 

And they had dolphins almost immediately!

 

Thos look a lot like the old BT-45s...very flat profile on the rear.
