Thanks, guys. Matt and I talked about what a great forum we have here with such good conversations. Fun to share our passion here as well and we both agreed we've learned so much from you guys.

We are grateful...mad respect to all who post here!

Wow, Bazza! You pulled the trigger in what, about an hour?

I didn't check new postings the last couple of days, and thus I missed out on the chance to increase my own number of VFRs.

    Congrats to both of you.

I don't imagine this will help a ton of people--but if you're considering a Pitbull TRS system for transporting bikes, the VFR750/700 has an interesting set of pins. Normally there are two pins that are matched to the bike's axle that go through the Pitbull TRS arm. If they can't get enough purchase due to the design of the axle and nut, you'll need to remove the rear wheel, install a cup receiver (that replaces one axle slider), and then reinstall the wheel.

With the VFR700/750, they actually use a single pin + a modified wheel nut (25mm flats). I wasn't clear on how this was going to work until I had it installed. Once installed, it was rock solid and even way more solid than the "cup" receiver I use on my SV and that Pitbull fashioned up for my VF500F. This has no play at all.

Why I think this is a way more convenient solution is because you can swap this from one VFR7 to another without removing the rear wheel. Just swap the axle nut.

As a comparison, this is the "cup" I have installed on an SV/VF.

Sweet!!! I'll be doing some mods to my trailer this week so it'll accommodate a chock in the front. In the past I've had to put the bike in diagonally, which sucks....lol...

Happy to buy that Pitbull system from you if you don't think you'll need it after our delivery. Ether way is fine - just want things to be fair.

    Thanks, Matt!

The pins are part of the bike now, so don't worry about that. You've still got time to back out, no hard feelings, if you want :p.

I just thought the system was pretty neat, and it's the first time I've seen them replacing an axle nut. I thought I'd seen every permutation of different pins at the track. Not this one.

Heyyyy it made it the 1,300 miles in what looks like the shape it left at. That's great news! Hopefully everything worked out and the track didn't give you too much grief getting past the gate to the RV's. Kinda convenient finding a MotoAmerica team headed that way that didn't mind offsetting some of their fuel costs for bike transport.

Yeah and "MotoAmerica" was the magic word in getting in. More on that later. Your friend Mark was extremely helpful and very nice. I just got my rig backed into my driveway and toted the tote and box of spares into my house. Man you are one organized person, Matt! Everything packed nicely...in bags with descriptions.

The bike starts right up, too!

Looks VERY clean and mechanically perfect. Just have to work on the outer body stuff, which I will.

    Thank you, Matt! Stoked!!!

It has become part of the local culture here. I live just south of Daytona, but we get our share of the cultural impact. You have no idea unless you have experienced it yourself though - pretty amazing.....this was at the gas station I stopped at to gas up before heading into the speedway.....two lots over biker chicks in skimpy outfits had a bike wash space set up.....

There's 2 of them in the second photo. I don't have a zoom on my camera and wasn't going to take anymore time to get closer with Matt's bike waiting for me! ;)

Hah, I knew catching him early in the week would be best. He's the suspension guy in the midwest for ASRA and track days. So once things get rolling there, he will be overwhelmed by people in pulled in 1000 directions at once. Glad you were able to make Wednesday work.

I forgot to lower the shifter a bit. I'm sure you figured that out.

I try to label everything individually in bags or else I won't know what they are. The more "miscellaneous" bags are the ones that came with the bike when I purchased it. I have like 4 or 5 bikes that are in various states of disassembly right now, so everything is in bags and then in 6L-12L tupperwares. All my SV projects are color-coded. Even still, didn't keep me from idiotically installing the wrong set of intake valves in a head last weekend... ugh.

Anyway, obviously just shoot me an email or DM on here about anything specific that comes up. I got through the parts I was comfortable with. Mechanically I knew I could get it to run and likely run pretty well. I got to the aesthetic parts and realized I was out of my depth.

    Thanks again Bazza.

Oh man.....don't thank me, Matt......I'm more stoked now than ever before for the opportunity to take her over the finish line!

I've been gathering fairings and am making progress on that front. Still working on a couple more items.

Tell you what...that freaking Airtech side/rear/tail fairing is intimidating...lol. One of my Blue bikes came with a Cobalt Racing aftermarket fairing just like it except no seat cowl. I don't know how it was sent to customers regarding holes cut out. Obviously that was already done when it came to me.

    IMG_2853.JPG

    And your Airtech......

    IMG_8993.JPG

The plan right now is to try and restore to the OEM fairing setup. I think it's do-able with what I have and what I still need.

Even without some of it's parts.....what a beautiful bike! :)
