    Hi everyone,
New to the forum but not to the VFR 800 Vtec!
Bought mine (2006 model) a few yeard ago from a friend because of extensive oil consumption. Took out the original engine and replaced with a spare one. Original is benched untill I find the time to overhaull it completely. So for now riding a little Frankenstein VFR and loving it all the time.
    Ride save you all!
    Kind regards, Daniël

How many Kms on the original engine? Did something happen to facilitate the oil consumption?

    Hi Captain!
To my knowledge nothing specific has happened. She had the bike for many years and it got regular service.
It had done about 60.000 KM (37.000 miles).
That is why I want to rebuild the original engine (and compeletely restore the rest of the bike to as new as I can).

OK. That is unusually low miles for that in my opinion. Feels like something happened.

But... it's been taken care of and now you have a fun bench project!

Ye very unusual for the mileage. So I'm really keen on breaking down the engine and seeing what's wrong. But I first need to finish a few other projects I'm afraid. Complete restauration of a 1965 VW beetle and a Fiat 1500 convertible. When those are done I fullfilled my promises to some friends and my shop is free for persobal projects.
