Is riding a motorcycle in SA a safe idea?
I mean, is it a wise idea given theft/robberies/car jackings?

There are loads of happy motorbike riders in South Africa - but obviously the sensible approach is to plan any visit with local help.

If you have not come across the Ulysses-Club - it is an international club with many national clubs around the world including South Africa so you can tap into their knowledge. If you are planning a visit I suggest you get in touch with them as they know the places to see and the places to avoid.

They can be contacted here - admin@ulyssesa.co.za

and you will find more information on their website here - https://ulyssessa.co.za/

PS If you mention you were referred to them by John over in the Ulysses-club France and they may even be able to set up a zoom meet to give you face to face advice on your plans and advice on places to rent vehicles and any kit it is worth carrying.

    Have fun
