Yes. But it is also cast on the inside of one of the spokes.

    Yeah, that makes more sense.

You can still run a 160-18. Upper limit.

If it were me, I would see if I could find a reasonable rear 18 tire. And then take my time to research, collect parts, machine spacers, while I am safely enjoying my new 400RR.

Quicker. Potentially slightly smaller contact patch. Not in the danger zone in my opinion.

    CBR600F2 is a 4.5x17. Stock tire was 160/60-17.

I really don't want to change the ride height, but will if I eventually have to.

main concern is mixing tire compound front to rear, can still get a Shinko 006 podium for the rear but have to go to 005 advance or 009 raven for the front?
...and then there is putting Chinese rubber on it as another issue! Although I don't really think the Shinkos are all THAT bad??

I get it. But it is a 30 year old shock. At some point you might have to replace. And when you do, a ride height adjustable shock lets you put it wherever you want. Plus it will be a MUCH better shock.

That can be part of the plan too.

I don't worry too much about that. Same manufacturer is usually the safe route. Not saying that there can't be an issue, but I really doubt it. I mix n match quite a bit and haven't been "bit".
