    They're probably just disappointed you didn't name this thread "Jim's $600 1988 VTR250 Interceptor"

Mirrors....the VTR250 (and also the VF500F) have an offset in the mirror so it can clear the windscreen.

Here is the picture where it mounts on the brake MC.

The deal is you can't mount a normal mirror here. It has to have the offset.

I have tried to find OEM mirrors but no luck. I kind of hate the mirrors I bought but I needed something quick so Ebay it is. $19.00 shipped LOL.

Does anyone have a suggestion on alternate mirrors?

    Thanks!

Yes, I bought the special tool to remove the clutch nut. If you ever need it glad to loan it to you.

It was kind of expensive. Not sure I will ever use it again!

I have ones (extender) similar to that on the CB-1. Can you not use an extender like the one in your pics?

That extender is built in to the mirror unfortunately. It can't be removed.

Where did you get that extender you show on the CB-1? That is exactly what I need.

Fleabay...cheap. Use a better quality bolt than it comes with.

I know what you mean about the bolts....That set of Ebay mirrors I just bought,
I had to run the bolts through a die to clean the threads out. The plating was too thick on the threads.
    Can't beat the price though!

One of those "simple" jobs that turned into a multiple day ordeal. None of the bolts of the suspension linkage would budge.

    Finally got it apart!

NO CENTER STAND...WHY do this HONDA? Probably saved them $20.00 LOL.

Had few Honda Civic scissor jacks laying around to support the back end. Remember, always use OEM Honda tools kids.
