Indeed... not too many museums display dirty bikes. I noted someone's markings on the speedo, maybe some non-stock fairing fasteners, along with the obvious exhaust and braided brake lines.

Looks like a bike in good shape, but it's a far reach to say it's anywhere near what I would expect museum quality to be.....

    Maybe?

Lowers are aftermarket too. Among many other red flags.

Nice bike. Not Museum quality. Not even "almost".

He won't get what he's asking. But good for him for trying and keeping the valuations of our 2nd gens so high.

The market ultimately decides valuation - but it doesn't hurt not to give them away.

That bike would do better on Ba.T. if they'd allow it. I heard they can be real picky.....

I don't mind trying to sell above it's likely value. Hell, most of my ebay listings for parts I start a little high and slowly lower until it sells, cuz you never know.

But the "RARE!" "MUSEUM QUALITY" BS hype is annoying. It shows you don't know shit about the machine or the market. So... what else has been hacked on it that you can't see, but they think is "MINT" and is just fine.

Here's the response from the Museum Curator after notifying him of:

"Not a 750, JH2RC26 is a VFR700F. At least that's how it started life. If somebody is expecting a real 750, they are gonna be disappointed."

"Thank you VFR police! Work on your people skills...Jesus!"

I really didn't think I was being rude. Thought I was relaying the info and letting him know that the buyers of this bike are likely particular. How much sugar coating does it need?

He also had to respond additionally to tell me I'm a d-head. wtf?

No doubt just hoping to score a nice profit on a flip to someone who doesn't know the difference.

I'm in Canada, and a 750 in that condition might be worth 3-4K CDN

He doesn't have much selling history, but from what I could see and what he has bought. Flipper. Which is fine. But do your research then, especially when you are trying to sell at a premium.

And for a little, "well, actually", Freddie and Bubba (or whoever he listed) did not race that bike. Those bikes only had VFR bodywork to look like a production VFR. They weren't even HRC kitted VFRs.

I took a look at his eBay feedback earlier today just out of curiosity....and nothing bad from others but in the "left for others" category quite a few nasty remarks for others....which sorta tells you the kind of person you're dealing with, in my experience.

I look at feedback all the time to get a glimpse into someone's mindset. Usually it's the regular stuff but every once in a while......you get a hot head! :D
