I'm not as experienced as most here pertaining to the Interceptor brand......it's history and evolution, etc.

But have come to really appreciate the 1st Gen Interceptors are feel they are the most iconic and beautiful of them all. Something about the way that headlight cowl comes up so high.....

Some of the other photos from your linked article, Capt.......

One of things that I have always liked about the 1000F (and 500) over the VF700/750F is that the top of the headlight is actually about even with the top of tank. One of my "golden" relationships on bikes with lines that work better for me. The 700/750 is up a bit high for me, but I still like them.

Cap … your 1000 is awesome. I love the lines and the Cap Touches on the bike.

To me , the 1000f is the best looking of the original interceptors … again to me.

It is the details. I see where you are coming from. Not the biggest fan of the large singe headlight though.

You can thank the USDOT for that. The reason the 85 VF1000R got one before they abandoned their stupid fucking plan requiring that all US bikes used the same approved headlight.

Getting a headlight design approved in the US (and other large markets) is still a thing (read: expensive, time consuming), and why many new Hondas have the same (ugly) headlight as the Transalp / Hornet / NC-X / etc.

^^ Oh damn, I didn't know that. One bike gets cats eyes, they all get cats eyes. Leave it to the US to be a PITA.

I am currently changing over the majority of my fleet to Collector Plates. Just a few more to go. My usage is mostly in line with the restrictions, and I'm also just not worried about it. I want to get them done before something possibly changes and/or the price goes up further.
