Had to come up with a novel way of installing the engine....decided to drop the bike on top of the engine with a motor lift.

May have to try this on bigger projects, it worked great on this lightweight.

Yeah, lowering the bike onto the engine was way easier than lifting the engine into the frame with minimal tools.

Got 'er on the road for a short ride! All gears work, no smoke, no leaks....YAY!

Got a lot of work to do yet. Ain't going far on tires installed 12/1987 LOL! They don't hold air very well.

Ask this seller on eBay if they have access to other colors.

    https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ss...ama1931&_oac=1&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211

I am in double digits of their seat covers. They even give me extra material for the solo cowl pad if I ask.

They might just advertise the best most common colors. If not, inquire if they would be willing to make one from high quality vinyl that you supply. Then go around to suppliers / upholsterers and see if you can find that blue. Lots of Hot Rods from the 90's likely have used that color.

Also, while I know you are a purist and this is not an option, that bike looks really good with a black tank and black seat.

If you have trouble in a reasonable amount of time of finding that blue, you could go black for in the interim. Perhaps even find a donor seat for the black cover.

i need a seatcover too to replace the 36yo original on my '89 @ 38,000 miles. ive had duct tape on my seat for over 2 years. seems like outdoor parking kills covers.

whats needed to fit the new cover do-it-urself possible, tools needed ?
