I recently bought a 1985 VF 700F motocycle and the carburators need work. I have searched the internet for a rebuild kit and have had no luck. I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a website that sells rebuild kits.

    Thanks,

Try SUDCO they have quite a few bits for most carbs. Try this link http://www.sudco.com/ Click on the online catalog and it should have what you need.

Does anyone know if there is a carburator service company that will overhaul/ rebuild VFR 700 carbs, if they are removed from the bike and shipped to them for maintenance?

What about your local dealer? They aren't always the cheapest (though probably cheaper than most places you'll find online) but the convenience factor is high. I'd suggest checking with them first then exploring the possibility of shipping them off to someone.

    FYI - Your bike is not a VFR700, it's a VF700F. There is a big difference!

That does sound a little steep, however the places you'll find online are charging $300-350. The parts aren't cheap, maybe $100-150. That means they are still making a killing on the labor.

I agree, a simple cleaning is something folks should try themselves. It's not really that hard.

you know, I already did it once myself, and I will do it again. I just was close to the shop so thought why not give them a chance. I have a lot of other things going on with my remodel at this time, but I just can't go that high in cleaning costs. it's not so much the cleaning that aggravates me, it's reinstalling those bad boys!
