So, I *think* this might be where your rectifier goes? Number 12 on the diagram.

Nope. That is right near where the connector for the Starter Solenoid exits the harness above/rearward of the battery.

I poked around one of my 86 last night and couldn't find that plug, but my harness is really tightly packed against the frame right there. I will check a different one tonite, but I'm starting to think the US model doesn't have that plug. I also have a bare harness in a box I can check too.

    4 cylinders...
    Occasional misfire

    wont idle properly

and gonna be in for it, when the girlfriend gets home as the garage is under the house and now we have the aromatics of exhaust and engine paint heat curing

    So worth it

Ok, so she has been cutting out (electrical methingk) ansd turns out the regulator is shot (on idle it starts climbing until i shut it off at 14.5 V)

Been reading and seems generally the R1 mosfet rectifier is most reccommended....
I can get this one from Amazon (their delivery is assured, South africa)

    chrome_rGl2wrQhV1.png

What do you think, Or i can get an original(locally at twice the cost of this one!!!, without cables either

I am asking as i dont have much experience with rectifiers,or ordering ones from Amazon so advice here is helpful

It's hard to say. I just got done reading a few reviews from people in different motorsports (ATV, snowmachine, motorcycle, etc) and they seem generally pleased, even after some time. A lot of them comparing it to Rick's units that have been around for a while.

I know that price doesn't necessarily equal quality, but I don't think this is a likely dud like some $28 piece of shit.

Paint and striping is looking great, but...

The "VFR 750" is ok and the "INTERCEPTOR" is fair. But the "GEAR DRIVEN CAMS V4" is a harsh toke.

Once it is cleared and some time goes by, it will sting less. Keep on moving.

Nice to see fairings that don't have a bunch of cracks and scrapes --- and missing chunks! :D

    The Sunk Cost Fallacy

Yes they were expensive and you already bought them. You didn't HAVE to proceed. The money was already spent and the bikes will never be "original".

Your painter seems good. I would have pivoted to a custom, simple stripes paint job. With lines like the NR750.
