I dream of being the "Sanford & Sons" of junk. Kidding aside, I have two Gen3s, I would part with part of a pinky finger possibly to pick up a red one. Then again, I may just say FTW and buy a new bike; and to dig deep into your psyche, what would it do that my two gen3s and my ex500 do not do? Who knows.

Couple small cracks, that did not go all the way thru, repaired (v-grooved, epoxy filled, re-enforced on the back, ABS body filler, sanded). Couple coats of primer, sanded, couple coats satin black (which is what the whole lower third of the bike is).

Gonna be good for 10 mph on top and 10 extra mpg. Because science.

New tires for the RC36. I am prepping another set of wheels to mount these on and then swap over.

    PXL_20241008_160913050[1].jpg
Date coded 1424 & 1824. $275 shipped, which I thought was pretty decent given 170/60-17s are not cheap these days. Hell, tires in general are not cheap these days. Rosso II will be just fine for this VFR and was one of the few matching sets I could find in Manufacturer / Model I was interested in.

I have another 8 spoke and a '95 front wheel with floating rotors, which I need to get going on. Prep on hollow spoke VFR wheels is not that fun and the rear is in pretty ugly condition. No rash or dings, but 2 coats of shit paint on top of the factory finish.

That is a pretty good deal on the tires. Good find. I really like my corsa rossa II. I have them on 3 bikes currently. Although I do like my Battle Axes on the Hawk and 750. New tires are just generally amazing any more. Night and day from my 90's experiences on Metzlers.

I have the Rosso II (exact same sizes) on the wheel swap VF1000F and liked them, so it was low risk.

That's a really really good price on those tires. Friggen Pirelli slicks jumped $50 a set trackside for me this year.

It is the OEM plastic Side Stand Cover. Been looking over 2 years for one.

I had mine fall off in the parking lot in the everglades when I moved down here in 98. I was kind of dumb then and just left it, not too long after the triangle helper thing on the side stand broke off due to some scraping around the turns if you get my jist. My 93 came with one, I was almost thinking about painting it black and putting it on "First Wife."

Capt' you need one of those plastic cap things on your rear hub.

I have it, but I use a Pit Bull stand sometimes on this bike. RC36-II exhaust system prevents the use of the accessory center stand, but I wouldn't have kept it on anyway on this bike.

Posting here because the pic is in front of this bike.

Honda Element wheel and tire project. Wanted some 17" wheels to replace the 16" stockers. Couple years ago found some Civic wheels that had the correct bolt pattern and offset. They had some curb rash and I got them for $75. I liked the style, they were my second choice. Non-directional, spoked style.

Sanded and blended out the curb damage, sanded off the clear coat on the machined spoke faces and wet sanded the rest.

    PXL_20241222_015621802[1].jpg

4 coats of Duplicolor Matte Black and 4 coats of Duplicolor Matte Clear. Came out nice.

Like a fucking idiot I decided to mount the tires myself so somebody didn't fuck up my fresh rims. Well, mounting is fine, easier than some motorcycle tires. But getting the fucking bead to start SUCKED. Took hours. Tire size designed for 6 - 8" rims, these are 7". But the beads wouldn't touch both sides of the rim ridges at the same time.

Because the 92 is getting new tires, of course that means it needs a new set of restored wheels for them. Here's the next set to occupy my time...

    PXL_20241231_204156566.jpg

This was the plan the whole time, as the original wheels are pretty marked up. Plus it's getting a RC36-II front wheel, so just swapping fresh wheels with tires is really nice.

I will see how easy the rear spindle wants to come apart for servicing and to restore the rear disc and brackets.

Way too fucking many, on both counts.

Here's the wheels when the 95 needs new tires. 8 spoke for the rear and a replacement front.

    PXL_20241231_234435185.jpg

Perfect original wheels will get wrapped and boxed.

Was just gifted these, including the brand new Michelins. Will eventually go on an 86 VFR that is getting some cool hand-me-downs from the RC26.

    PXL_20241231_234507496.jpg

    Actual VFRs.... Only 6. Four 86 VFR700/750F, one 92 and one 95. Other VF/Interceptors... 8 more.

More misc rims hanging in the 3rd garage.
