    About 120 miles after brunch.

Still runs amazing. Handling blew me away even more. Now with no burning oil smell!!

Stopped for one in Tolt (Big Block Brewery) for Oktoberfest and some people watching. It was pretty cool, around the corner to the right was a beer garden. Live DJ was streaming music from Frankfurt Oktoberfest.

    "I'm going for a ride."

"You just drove us home for nearly 7 hours and now you want to go for a ride?"

    "Yeah. It's really nice."

    {shakes her head}
    "Be careful."

You know what Cap ... thanks for posting these types of pics. I spend way too much time working on my fleet and not enough riding my beasts. Lately I have been doing carbs on most of my bikes ... plenty of plugged jets. I usually have my parrot on my shoulder when I do the work. The little guy is a carb expert.

Came up on a RSV4 at a light in the valley and flanked him for 3 good roads. He was pretty fast and kept looking in his mirror seeing if I was still there... yep. At one stop sign he hesitated and looked back at me (I rarely come up next to a stranger at signs and lights). Think it took him a second to process what I was on... or not fucking know... and gave me a thumbs up. Stayed on him until the start of Tolt Hill Road (where I take my favorite fall pics) and decided to peel off onto Snohomish River Road. There were a BUNCH of cars and I could tell what that meant... hooligan passing time. And I had already been there staying on him on the previous roads. It was the right call, as I ended up having my road totally empty except for a few bicyclists AND my next favorite road (Issaquah - Fall City Road) all to myself too.

    Tolt Hill Road:

I hear yah Six. Too much time working. We have spent the last month moving, sealing, putting up, taking down stuff. My knees and back are beat. Finally, I said fuck it and took the RVF to work yesterday. I need suspension for it, but I really enjoy the little guy. I went flying past my house up the canyon in addition to riding from work. It was just so nice out. I actually prefer that bike to my Tuono, which is going on the chopping block.
Today was supposed to be VFR day, but I roller her out of the garage to find a nearly dead battery, so tonight she goes on the charger. I had a small fuel leak to diagnose anyway so I will fix that tonight.
I rode the Duc instead. Foggy, but still fun!

Nearly ended the day in tears. No drama, but a flat rear tire from a construction nail. Grr time to buy another new tire. image.jpg

Does that use a tubeless liner in the wheel for the spokes?

I believe it is a tubeless liner. You are sort of correct on the crying. My wallet is crying, me..just glad we got her home in one piece. My wife is the master of "grab the truck, ramp, and tie downs". :) Love that gal!

Where is the damage and how old is the tire?

I have zero issues doing a plug / patch from the inside on candidates.

    1ELC6_AS01.jpeg

But I mount and balance my own tires, so I'm also the legal dept.

The tire is date code from last year 1523 or so. pretty new. Mounted in March I think. I just didn't know how bad I damaged the side walls when operating trying to get across the road and into my garage. maybe 100-150 ft on a fully flat tire that had flattened completely on one portion (I had to move since I was stuck on inner side of a double blind corner with 2ft of bicycle lane on the highway).
I also would consider myself a spirited rider in general and didn't know if a patch was wise.

Obviously this is just me... I wouldn't be concerned about that distance damaging the tire.

Also I have years and many miles on 2 current plug/patched tires that I def did not take it easy on. One was a near new front Michelin R6 take off that a co-worker didn't want. Actually that's just a patch and has been on the RC26 now for quite a while and many aggressive miles. Just coming up for replacement this Winter. Wife's Super Hawk III has also had a patch plug for 10 years now.

I worked in a dealer in the days that you could still patch eligible tires. Seen it all. My personal confidence is high. We also reaped the rewards of customers that wanted new when they punctured their new tires.

But I get it, it's not my ass on the line.

Baxley and $20 OG LP stand to the rescue. Ducati put a overly wide round swing arm, so stands made for that are uncommon and expensive. No place to mount spools either. Keeping the punctured tire to patch and keep as spare. Ordered new tire $50 less than Cycle Gear.
