Anyone know if the 7th gen fuel pump will fit the 6th gen?

My pump and sending unit are both shot. I noticed the 7th gen pump has the sending unit built in with fuel pump. I'm curious if anyone has tried fitting the newer assembly in their 6th gen.

Both are shot! Service Manual shows how to remove just the sender unit, pump appears separate!

I just corrected my post. I meant 7th gen have pump and sending unit combined. My 6th gen was stored with fuel in it (must have had ethanol). All the rubber rotted and metal corroded on both pump and sending unit. These parts have over doubled in price since I built my bike. I noticed the 7th gen is all in one unit. I though that might be an option if it fits.

5th gen = 1998-2001 VFR800, this one has MBG part numbers.
6th gen = 2002-2009 VFR800 (world market got it until 2013), this one has MCW part numbers.
    7th gen = VFR1200
8th gen = 2014-now VFR800, this one has MJM part numbers.

If you're talking about an 8th gen, here's the fiche:

Looks like the bottom plate might be the same, but it has been rotated 90 degrees. The gasket is a different part number too. The actual pump motor itself looks similar enough to be the same, but they don't list a separate part number for that. Good luck.
